Sesame Street - Zoe's Dance Moves

Best DVD so far!!
My two year old daughter is VERY picky about what she watches. I only allow her to watch DVD's instead of TV and she is allowed to watch two shows daily. That being said she is very opinionated about what she wants to watch. I put Zoe's Dance moves on last night and was not sure about how she would react. She said nothing the entire DVD and began to cry at the end of the DVD asking me...."Again MaMa?" WOW! She has NEVER ever reacted that way to a show before. I did let her watch it a second time and she enjoyed dancing with Zoe and Paula. I found myself even watching this show and I must admit it is even one of my favorites. There are numerous multicultural dances and the dancers are outfitted in multicultural outfits as well which my daughter LOVED. I think her favorite was the African dancers. I never expected my daughter to react so positively to this little dance video but she truly does love it. This morning she asked my husband for Zoe!That being said I think that it is sometimes difficult to pick DVD's for our children because children are so different in their likes and dislikes. I just bought the Counting Sesame Street DVD and my daughter HATED it. However she is really into singing and dancing. So I would assume if your child enjoys music, singing, and dancing I would scoop this little DVD up in a heartbeat. However if your child has not intrest in music, singing, or dancing I would skip this one. My daughter also loved Seasame Streets Do the Alphabet with Baby Bear!

Entertaining- not Instructional
Mixed feelings here. My granddaughter, aged 3, loved it, especially the muppets, the African section, Zoe's crazy dancing section, all of the ethnic dancing. We had to scurry around for all the props that the video kids were using. She watched it over and over trying to copy everything. However, most of her time was spent standing around glued to the screen. This is look at me, copy me pseudo dance instruction. However, some of the moves are downright dangerous for young children to try and copy. Changements, are you kidding me? (not even for 8 year olds from a video) Not unless you want severe knee and ankle problems. "Copy me" instruction has severe limitations. For young children problem solving emphasizing shapes, levels, directions, rhythm, and energy qualities lay a more substantial educational groundwork for dance appreciation. And creative dance problem solving is infinitely better suited to the charms of the Muppets!

Not what I expected, but hey!
Bought this for my daughters 2nd birthday. She is in love with sesame street and loves to dance, so i though "Perfect!" Watching the video is fun and I love that it incorporates multicultural dance, but Paula Abdul - her midriff and choreography are not the easiest. My 6 year old niece and 8 year old son were telling me "this is hard stuff!" Its a cute video, but unless you have a dance prodigy then don't expect you little to learn the routines by watching this a few times!

but as long as they love it, that's all I care
My kids loooove this video. My son has been watching it since he was 17 months old. Now he is 5 ! My daughter has been watching it since she was born. Today, both of them are still so excited when I turn on this video . They dance along with it too, which is so cute! I thought these dance moves are too hard for these babies, but as long as they love it, that's all I care. This is a good exercise for physical and mental too... because they are to memorize the moves and be able to combined them in the end. It is fun!

Didnt thrill me.
So, i ordered this dvd for my six year old daughter, who is a big girl for her age.Im trying to encourage her in fun ways to exercise, and thought that this dvd would be helpful, and interesting to her.Needless to say, neither of us were impressed. It was tuff for my daughter to keep up with the dance moves, and it wasnt entertaining enough for her to want to watch it over and over again like other dvds we own.Im pretty sure the one time we viewed it will be the last.Pretty much in my opinion its a waste of money.

Nice video marred by stereotypical cultural mishmash
Daughter loves dancing around to this one, although I do cringe at my daughter doing the stereotypical Asian bow at the beginning of "Asian" style dance (there's also an "African" one, though ballet does not get the generic continent label of "European"!) Maybe I'm reading too much into a dance video, but really, Sesame Street? It gets her off the couch, though, so there's that..

This is a good video for toddlers ama preschoolers
This is a good video for toddlers ama preschoolers. Teaches about the different types of dance from other cultures. Easy to follow loves and has Elmo and Zoe that my kids know and love. Paula Abdul is well known and the kids find her friendly.

Is Very Good my baby loves it!
When it is playing my baby starts to dance and enjoy, only in the Rap part feels like bored maybe because she is very young to understand this part (is 1 year and 3 month old), but is very greatful watch her dancing and smiling on the mostly of this movie
