The truffle mill is great however I don’t seem to be able to find out where I can buy additional refills - this may render the mill useless if I can’t get replacements

I was pleased to try this 'Truffle Mill with Two Refills Gift Set | Two Pack | One Custom Truffle Mill with Truffles and a Refill Bag with Two-3 Gram Bags of Truffles.', as I love the taste of truffles.1. You get a nice acrylic type mill, that has been filled with pieces of truffle called petals. It also comes with a refill pouch with 2 bags of the dried summer truffle petals.2. On taking the mill out of its clear plastic display box I can see there is a plastic cover on the bottom, obviously to keep the truffle fresh. Removing it was easy with the edge of a flat bladed knife. I will keep it to stand the mill loosely on but not pushing it fully home.3. I milled some truffle onto a white plate. You can see from the photo attached that you get very fine dust along with slightly bigger truffle particles.4. I tasted some of the ground truffle neat off the plate and it has a lovely mild natural truffle flavour. What I was not expecting and is disappointing, is the slight grittiness you get with some of the truffle - a bit like a few particles of soil were left on the truffle before they were dried. The gritty particles aren't big enough to hurt your teeth but when you get a minute piece between your teeth it crunches half a dozen times and feels odd.5. I ground some on my lunch as I thought I might have had been unlucky to get a gritty piece and it was the same unfortunately. The flavour is mild but good on food.In summary - a good presentation pack of truffle mill and refill of mild tasting truffle that grinds to a fine grade. It is disappointing that I found it to be slightly gritty when eating it. I know that truffles go for a lot of money, so I think £34.50 is fair to a little high as a price point, in my opinion.

The mill I got was completely useless for grinding the truffle but it didn’t matter because the truffle was totally without taste. I’m not at all sure I haven’t been sent packs of pencil sharpenings.

I was very intrigued to try this as have always wanted to try truffles and was curious to see what this would taste like. However, I was very disappointed with this product.The item came with two refills and a grinder similar to a pepper mill. Despite being included in this package the grinder did not seem very effective.I tried this on both pasta and a custom made dish that included orzo and truffles (I used the whole of one refill) but neither made any impact. There was no discernible taste at all from this product. Therefore I could not recommend this product based on what I have experienced.

This is a specially designed truffle mill. I had assumed that it would just be a repurposed pepper-mill, but it seems that considerable thought went into making it airtight, and dealing with the particular needs of grinding truffle shavings.It’s supplied full, with two refill bags. Truffles are incredibly expensive, but the taste is strong enough for you to be able to grind off three or four twists and transform the taste of a fried egg. How you react to them may vary. I think they’re nice enough, but my wife thought they were absolutely delicious.

The truffle included with this set smells amazing - pungent and earthy - but you need to add quite a lot before it starts to have any kind of flavour. The mill grinder is not the most effective: it's quite a cheap-feeling thing and takes ages to get even a tiny pinch of truffle out. Appealing looking gift set, but very small and I'm not convinced it's worth the money.

I just love truffles. This is Flavorful and easy to use. I adjusted the screw on the top to make it fine and sprinkle pastas, salads even on Asian foods. LOL.

Ce n'est pas pour rien que ça s'appelle "coffret cadeau". D'abord, les truffes, déshydratées ou pas, c'est assez spécial. Il ne faut donc pas saupoudrer à l'aveugle sur n'importe quel aliment. Une petite étude culinaire s'impose de prime abord. Quant au moulin, je ne sais pas pourquoi mais c'est toujours la loterie de la foire aux plaisirs. A savoir, un coup, ça ne marche pas, un coup ça ne marche pas non plus. Pour un cadeau, l'effet est garanti. Mais ne vous chargez pas du service d'après.

As these are dried truffles I did not expect them to smell or taste like fresh truffles. I tried this 3 times on egg whites so I could taste and smell it without the food interrupting the taste and smell. All 3 times it has NO TASTE, NO FLAVOR, and NO SMELL. Then I found out Amazon does not let your return the product. Don't waste your money !!!!!!!!!!!!
