I needed this as a jewelry drill. I tried drilling on a thin piece of quarts and it only put scratches on the stone’s surface. Next I tried metal, then wood then the plastic case that the drill came in. Still only scratches. Finally I tried a thin piece of cardboard then paper and it did pierce a whole in each of those materials. I’m sending it back. Will update on the return process ### ⭐ Even at the dollar store, this wouldn't be a good buy *by W***A on March 8, 2019* There should be a picture of this thing next to the word cheap in the dictionary. While it looks ok in the item description, its made of ill-fitting pot metal parts and as light as a feather. The orange bits that appear to be soft are actually hard plastic with nasty mold seams that will likely ruin anything delicate clamped between them. The jaws of the vise wobble, so they won't properly hold your items. Most frustrating is how the design causes the vise to bind as you turn the screw to secure objects. I'll try to get a refund and would recommend prospective buyers to look elsewhere and spend a bit more for something that actually works. ### ⭐⭐ Drill doesn't work!! *by L***L on January 13, 2019* The grinder works well, but the drill doesn't work.
