Works great easy to use and clean up

It was a little weird at first using a scissor-type cutter instead of a pizza wheel but after the first use, I actually prefer it. No cuts on any surface, it does a great job of cutting through the pizza and it even lifts the slice so you can put it on a plate. I hope it lasts for a long time.

I saw this in Sur La Table and, while intrigued, felt it might be a useless gadget. When I found myself in the market for a new pizza cutter recently, I saw these again on Amazon and decided to take a chance. So glad I did. These specially-designed scissors are sheer genius, and have eliminated my multi-product approach to cutting I used to use for our weekly homemade pizza nights. Inside of a combo of wheel and kitchen shears, to cleanly cut what the wheel didn't but are too short to use solely on their own, and, occasionally, also an additional server to pick up. Instead, these handy scissors with the bottom protector do all three, neatly and cleanly every time. Slip the extra-long scissor blades under the pizza and snip away and, then when you're done, just lift out the piece using the small support of the bottom piece, which also works to protect non-stick surfaces from scratching. Voila, no more burnt fingers, ripped or dumped toppings (a classic pizza wheel fail) and perfect pizza pieces every time. My only tiny gripe would be that the awkward shape makes these a little hard to store; finding a spot both long enough and tall enough to accommodate, as well as not damage the bottom plastic. Though I will say it's nice that they lock together at the handle to protect the blades when not in use. It may be a bit of a one-trick pony, but it's totally worth it if you make homemade pizza as often as we do.

I purchased this for use with my polished stainless pizza pans so as not to scar them up with a different type cutter, such as a wheel. The plastic "spatula shoe", as the manufacturer calls it, won't scratch just about anything you care to cut pizza on. Scizza cuts cleanly and quickly through every pizza I've tried it on, from soft croissant crust to brittle thin crust. It supposedly does just as well with deep dish, and I reckon it would, but I haven't tried that, so I can't comment there. The blades are quality German stainless steel. I have yet to experience rust on any part of mine, including the spring, and it is several years old. The blades are VERY sharp, so you must be careful when cleaning. I failed to exercise adequate caution during my first cleaning and sliced a finger. As for the plastic shoe helping with lifting/serving of slices, meh... The blade does the gripping and there is little roll to worry about, at least with the size slices I make (8 count). The shoe might possibly maybe perhaps help keep a slice from doing a complete 90° flip on you and falling off, but if I were dealing with slices that soft and wide, I'd at least keep a hand poised under it, just in case. I haven't experienced any problems with the handle lock, but then I typically leave mine open and just laying on a clean paper towel waiting for the next pizza. If you throw yours in a drawer, you'll probably want to lock them down. Due to my limited use of the lock, I can't speak to its durability. I can say it works just fine for at least several dozen cycles, but beyond that YMMV. Considering the quality, utility and price point, I give it a full 5 stars.

The scissors perform well and cut pizza with little effort While it is a bit slower then using a cutter wheel, we use a stone pizza tray and this has always filled the wheeled cutters which required buying new ones or sharpening them.. These scissors remove that burden, so while a bit slower, it's still faster /more efficient in the long run

When I use this product I'm so glad that I bought it in the first place. I cannot tell you how conveniently easy it is to slice pizza with these scissors. What actually led me to buy the scizza pizza scissor in the first place is a youtuber called Freakin Reviews by James. If you haven't been to his YouTube channel he does great reviews on products not found in stores. Anyways the pizza scissors offer so much more than your traditional pizza wheel slicers. Then again if i'm being realistic in this review, it really comes down to how sharp the wheel is that keeps it going use after use. Now don't let that last sentence dissuade you. I really do find this product to be worth the purchase. You never have to go back and forth with these scissors unlike a wheel slicer. Also comparing to a professional pizza wheel slicer, you know the one that is like a ring? Ok well if you have the money to buy one of those and never have to go back and forth from one end to the other, well thats all great. More power to you. With the scizza its all smooth cutting straight ahead. It offers better precision and it can even hold up a slice (with a bit of pressure) and serve it easily on a plate. So with all that said. I highly recommend the Scizza to anyone. This would also make a great gift to someone. I don't know if you know the saying "Never in my life have I needed something so much, and never known until I received it" but this Scizza is pretty much that right there.

I had purchased the exact same pizza scissors a few years back. It held up really well. I just made the mistake and used it for something other than pizza; something that was too hard (a dog biscuit). The plastic handle ended up breaking. My error. I find these so much better than those round pizza cutters. And safer too; it locks nicely together after cleaning and is stored in the drawer without anyone accidently cutting themselves. Though pricey, but if used for its purpose, they should last many years.
