8th time is the charm!
I have bought and returned 7 walker trays over the last few months. Everyone has "standard issue" walkers. I have found that while they are are all essentially standard, the dimensions and designs do not lend themselves well to the poorly fabricated, over priced, and horrible (sometimes dangerous) quality. I spoke to the mfg of the walker my Mother has. They actually said "such a shame", "we have no idea what works w our product" and "good luck".So, I ordered this tray. Just received today. I know it's only day one but I am love right now. A piece of cake to attach, seems sturdy and well made. The tray does not sit inside the entire walker space, allowing for Mom to remain in perfect position while walking. The cup holders actually have a bottom, sides and are big enough for real world coffee mug and the other for a smaller beverage. The tray moves up and down pretty easily. I love everything about this tray except for one thing... the hard plastic could cause slippage of whatever is on the tray. No worries. $1.79 Dollar Tree grip type shelf paper took care of that problem. For the first time in months, Mom can participate more and the caregiver (me) no longer has to jump up for a cup of pudding :) Dishes go into the sink, newspapers into recycle... the sky is the limit.

3rd Hip Surgery-- Wins Best Walker Tray Award!
The unique and winning characteristics: 1) the ability to put the tray up and down. I was on my own during recovery and this walker allowed me to walk upright (as instructed) without having to take the tray off or push it down. When you start walking as part of your PT plan, you can lower the tray. You'll maintain perfect posture and be able to look straight forward without worrying your belly area might hit/destabilize your walker. Putting it up and down takes a little jiggling-- no big deal. Installation was difficult for me-- but this was day 1 home and I was weak and in pain. It felt like an Olympic event. If you can get someone to do it for you then it's easy peasy. 2) The is super sturdy-- unlike my previous tray which would sometimes pitch forward or backward.. 3) There are 2 cup holders, different sizes and with a little area for a cup handle. Fabulous! I could put my coffee cup in the holders! No spills! Previously coffee would go flat on the tray. Any tray will jiggle a bit with motion, but with my old tray, by the time I reached my destination there would be more coffee on the tray than what was in the cup! Slight exaggeration there.

Handy walker tray
I liked that it flips down and out of the way and that it has inserts for two size cups. It's very sturdy and easy to clean. It needs to have a lock or snap to hold it in place until one is ready to flip it down. I accidentally leaned on the outside edge of the tray, and it flipped down, spilling my dinner which was on the tray! Plus I came close to losing my balance. Aside from that fault, it's perfect.

Worth every penny for the freedom it provides!
My otherwise healthy near 50 husband was involved in an accident and was advised by the occupational therapist before leaving the hospital to get a tray like this for the walker he was going to be using for the next 12+ weeks. The occupational therapist assured him it would dramatically increase his independence, as he could get a drink of water, or a plate of food, or even a DVD or magazine and have a way to carry it from one place to another while using the walker, and he wouldn’t need anyone to stay with him all day to help with such things (meaning I didn’t have to take a leave of absence from my job to care for him). My husband spent 2 evenings in the hospital researching all the options available on the market, and determined this tray was the best “bang for the buck”.When it arrived, I opened up the box and happily found that there was NO ASSEMBLY needed. (Hurray!) Attaching it to the walker was easy to do. I have rheumatoid arthritis, and I was able to attach the tray without any pain or assistance; you press the 4 clips against the walker and it pops right into place with no chance that it will fall off, slide around or otherwise loosen. The tray it’s self has 2 cup holders that accommodate both the large, lidded hospital type insulated cups as well as standard kitchen glasses and mugs. We found that filling a cup/glass/mug to 1 inch below the top was just right to avoid accidental spills when going over door thresholds, so you don’t have to suffer with 1/2 a cup of coffee when you need a full one. The tray will hold a plate of food, silverware and a napkin, and one drink in each cup holder, to take to a table. The tray folds flat against the walker front so you can maneuver the walker right up against a stove, sink or counter without having to lean forward at an awkward angle, and it didn’t leave scratches on wood cupboards. A quick wipe with a dish cloth, wash cloth, baby wipe or sponge, and the tray is clean and ready to go again. The crumbs and debris don’t get stuck in corners or the cup holders, they come right up. In short, it does what the occupational therapist said or would— it gives my husband the ability to do things independently. Let’s face it, needing help to get a drink of water and the tv remote is frustrating for everyone, patient and caretaker alike, and this makes it easy. You can’t put a price on sanity, but you can find ways to keep that sanity that don’t break the bank. The only downside we found in using this tray is static cling. The tray edge seemed to collect dog fur whenever one of our 2 Labrador Retrievers walked by. I found that if I squirted Static Guard on a cloth and wiped the tray edge, or I rubbed it with a fabric softener sheet, the dog fur would come right off and not return for a few days. Not a big thing, but you don’t want dog fur either. This is the tray I will be recommending to everyone I know if they are advised to get a walker. I can’t imagine how anyone can have a walker and NOT have a tray like this.

Great Buy!
Bought this for my mother after she had surgery. While the walker allowed her to move around easily, she was unable to carry anything. With this tray, she could not only get her food to the table, she would carry her laundry on it, and even use it when she put her makeup on in the morning.

Useful after leg/knee surgery
Having this tray was very useful for carrying food, bills, books, meds etc after a mobility/carry limiting event.I found it easy to attach to the walker.

Lacking in quality
In order for this tray to work you need to replace the top screws on both sides with longer ones, thank you husband. This will allow the tray to lower and rise easier, but the quality is lacking all around. I recommend NOT to use the glass/cup holders as they are not stable enough and should have been placed on the inside of the tray, not the outside. It also requires bruit strength to install the clips to the walker, again thank you husband. I don't know how long this tray will last but I'll use it until it doesn't as I'm not going to use my walker longer than, hopefully, 4-5 months until my back heals.
