This works really well. As long as it doesn't break within a year or so, then I will be happy with it for the price.I do not recommend those battery testers that aren't electric. If they aren't electric they are awkward to use, and don't really give you a good reading.This uses a battery included to make it work, and therefore is very easy to use. The slots for the different batteries are just the right size and you just have to stick it in and you immediately see how the charge is on the electric meter.Really good product for the price!

I used this battery tester at my dad’s house so I went and found it on Amazon and ordered it. I really like that it has no test leads to get in the way so it is compact to store. I’ve had it about a year now I think so. It seems to be time to review it. It’s very well built and sturdy for being plastic. The display is not back lit, but that’s fine. It’s basic and utilitarian. It’s functional and it does its job it tests, batteries of many different voltages, including the CR132A and 9V batteries and some I’ve never heard of. It is super easy to use because there’s no switches or anything. You just put the battery in and it shows you the amount of charge.

This is an excellent battery tester for alkaline and NiMh batteries. Remarkably simple to use, easy to read display, and, in my months of use, very accurate except for when it comes to lithium batteries. In almost all cases, it reports lithium batteries as 100% even if they're no longer working in the appliance. Why? One of the main features of lithium batteries, unlike most other chemistries, is that they put out very steady, near constant voltage from the beginning to the end of their life, and this tester is measuring the battery's voltage, not its amperage. So your Energizer AA Ultimate Lithium or whatever similar battery may no longer have enough power to run your kid's toy or video game controller or motorized shades or whatever, but it does still have just the slightest little bit left that's sufficient to power up that tiny LCD screen, and since the voltage is there, the tester reports a good battery when it is in fact at end of life. The battery in the picture is a lithium battery that was removed from our completely nonfunctional motorized shades, and I threw two of them in a game controller to see if they could even power that and they couldn't, yet obviously here it looks as though the battery is brand new.So, use it for other battery chemistries, but I wouldn't count on it for lithium batteries. If this was clearer in the description and perhaps item's name I would give this 5-stars, but as it is, it's a bit misleading.

Great design and functions beyond my expectations!Everyone should have one in the same place you store your batteries.Easy and accurate to use too.

Great little battery tester that I needed and wanted , I like how easy it is to use and I like how you can click the battery inside to test it like your putting a battery In object to use , no movable lever to have to use to test the battery etc.one negative I wish they had it where the slots listed the different sizes of the batteries was listed better everything is in black so it's hard to see the size that you use for the battery you want to test , the box does have the slots listed with the battery sizes but who wants to keep the box or even have to cut the diagram off the box to keep it , would be better If it was just listed on the tester itself .tester requires 1 aaa battery to work and I like the read out at the top of the tester showing the strength of battery that is being tested , and I like how many different batteries types you can test , I would recommend this tester .

I had tons of batteries sitting in a box and couldn’t tell which were dead or alive, but this tester has been super helpful for checking them. It makes it easy to toss the dead ones and even use the weaker ones in low-draw devices. It’s very easy to use, and the quality feels solid. Even little kids have been able to use it without any problems. Definitely a handy tool to have around!
