How do you install and get them to turn on? Whats the power source? I'm a novice in modified car.

First you have to find a spot where you want to mount them, then hook up all the wires positive to positive, ground to ground, and then you need a toggle switch to turn it on, I switched it to a fuse and it works now. I got the blue and put one in each wheel well and the other two right behind the nerf bars, and they are really bright and look nice.

Would the red lights be illegal to run on the street? I don't want to be ticketed by the traffic police.

I will tell you any light that's blue or red other than tail lights are illegal on or off the road. In florida it is criminal

What wiring harness do I use?

I mounted them in my truck bed. I used an in line fuse and wired directly from hot source and grounded to the body
