Amazon Basics Bedroom/Bathroom Door Knob With Lock, Coastal, Matte Black

If your door needs the round opening for the latch area oh, this is not your door knob. Never in my life have I seen a door knob where you couldn't take off the flat latch plate. This one appeared to be able to come off, I got on my screwdriver to try to twist it off, and it just kept bending as you can see in the photos. The lodge play itself bent where I tried to pry it apart. I was trying to loosen it so I could twist It off, which is how it should be done. I was holding the mechanism, which is shown in my first picture, while twisting the bent up watch plate trying to get it off. By doing this, the entire cylinder twisted, so that now my mechanism is no longer lined up correctly and is not usable. I used plyers and tried to twist it back, but that only bent the mechanism housing.As you can see in my last photo, my doors are not routed for a flat switch plate. I need to use the round cylinder. This lock set does not come with the round cap. Unfortunately (for me) I have learned that this lockset cannot be used in a round opening (since my lock set is now broken).The knob itself seems to be built well, you just need to know what exactly you are buying. I do not see anywhere in the description where is stated that this is a flat latch plate only lock set. Even cheap door knobs from Walmart have the option of being a round latch plate. I am very disappointed with this amazon basics door knob.

Doorknobs are pretty basic, right? I needed to replace the doorknob, so I thought I'd go with replacing both parts. I needed one that was the same basic gold color as all of my other doorknobs. I looked at several models and settled on this one.WHAT SOLD ME:- The price is better than competitors' prices.- THERE ARE FOUR KEYS!The other sets I looked at only had two keys, which would have meant an immediate trip somewhere to have extra keys cut. Who needs the hassle?

I received these door knobs and deadbolts last Friday.The installation was pretty straight forward. (You have to be a bit of a “handyman” to install them, or any locking mechanism correctly)Now that I have set them correctly, all I can say is WOW! They are essentially perfect for what they are supposed to be.They function beautifully and are a huge improvement over what was there previously.And the price of them is amazingly reasonable.Amazon Basics does it again!Love these things!!

They have a nice quality finish, and they match our other oil-rubbed bronze accents in the house. I installed four of these, all of them with very little problem. They've got a solid feel to them and latch closed securely. The only tip I would give is to make sure you have something to protect the finish as you're screwing the pieces together through the door. As with most of these types of finishes, it scratches off easily if subjected to a screwdriver bit.

All the doorknobs in our house are mismatched and old so I decided to update them starting with a bathroom we remodeled. I love the sleek, modern update this gave the space. The black finish is beautiful. Installation was pretty easy since all the parts fit into the existing drilled holes. The lock works fine. Only downside is that the doorknob makes a louder sound when opening and closing than the previous one we had. Who knows, this may be something that fades away as it gets worn in but it’s worth mentioning. Overall, happy with my purchase and the quality and will be purchasing more to replace the other knobs around the house.

This doorknob is exactly like a kwikset, it will only work in one particular swing of the door and one orientation of the lock. It is not interchangeable from right side to left side and inside to outside like a normal doorknob, it will only work one way. It does work other ways if you dont mind everything being upside down and backwards. If your door swing and lock orientation are correct then it is a pretty good doorknob. But you have a 50/50 chance it will have to be installed upside down or backwards to work properly.

What's amazing about this knob is the way it bounces back when you turn it! There's something about the feel of this knob that makes it feel premium, but only you will know that you got it at a less-than-premium price. I know this may not be a big deal to some, but what other way is there for people to know you mean business then with the first thing they'll touch on their way inside.

Not much to say about Amazon's latest house brand product. It's exactly as you would expect with quality that meets my expectations for the price paid. There are a few door knobs out there for less, but the unlock mechanism on the outside is too easy to use (slot versus pinhole on this model). One request is that Amazon sells this in a larger pack of knobs (I replaced the knobs on several doors at once)

This is an excellent product. The product looks slightly different than the picture in person. For future versions it would also be helpful to include a backplate for the handle as the handle only barely covered the factory pre-drilled hole for our doors. Otherwise it is a solid product and we love them.

I am not able to get this to work due to my door handle holes already being cut. And too far away. (i rent)I didn't know there were different lengths a handle would be from edge of door. The 5 I bought from home Depot worked no problem, just a little steep. So I wanted last one for closet that was cheaper.I have OCD with a landlord that just wants money, sonive been fixing his place up for some sanity.Didn't work for me. Though.. Only cost me $14 for this knob though. Maybe I'll make it work for the shed or something.

I absolutely hate this door knob. I've been screwing around with it for an hour, trying adjust the latch, and it doesn't work. It says to push the plastic lever. There's only one part that moves, that isn't plastic and the instruction pictures are pointing to something completely different. The only moving part is the silver piece that retracts back into the latch when the knob is turned. Complete waste of my time. (the instructions also show an emergency key for if the door was to lock from the inside which it says is included but I don't have)

I was looking to replace my existing knobs of nearly 13 years old. All missmatched and one chewed by my dog who was trying to learn how to open then door while I'm at work lol.I came across these Amazon Basic Knobs and can't say how happy I am with them.Each set comes with 4 keys. Easy to install. Great quality and craftsmanship and at an unbelievable price.If you're looking for a great bang for your buck, then I HIGHLY suggest this item.

Where do I start...Not easy to installThe locking mechanism doesn’t lockThe handle itself is so loose it actually wobblesWhen installing it, the two knob sides don’t line up so I spent over half an hour trying to put the pieces togetherThe dead latch intuition piece was not even a standard door dead latch, so trying to replace it to make the door work wasn’t an option, same goes for the cylinder (the thing that connects the inter and outer knob).Nothing lined up properlyThe screws were placed too close to the knob so ruining the threads of the screws is inevitable.I’ve installed many door knobs and this is the worst I’ve ever encountered. My advice, go to a hardware store and get a 20$ doorknob. At least you know it will work.
