However, this is a high quality, thick mat. I personally have not had an issue with it slipping on any surfaces I’ve used it. I think it is heavy enough to stay put regardless of surface. **Q: how far apart are the grommets?** A: Well the description says the mat is 26” wide and the grommets are set inside that width at the top so I am guessing they are about 24” apart. I bought 2 of these mats, one for each daughter-in-law, and they both love them for the size and plush thickness. **Q: Does is come with a bag?** A: Hi there, Thanks very much for your question.
