These worked perfectly for our guys (6-10) keeping track of their gear for daily practice and two meets a week this summer. They’re big/roomy enough for older swimmers but light enough for elementary-aged kids. We’ve only used them for one season, but I’m happy with the quality, they seem quite durable. The mesh did a great job helping things dry out quickly and we didn’t have any problems with mold or mildew all summer despite a sticky climate. We took out wet towels as often as I reminded them and hung the bags in our front closet but their caps and goggles, etc. we’re in there all the time, and often damp towels and t-shirts too. Heads up for younger swimmers. My 8-yr-old didn’t realize he needed to squeeze the toggle to open/close the drawstring top. After a couple weeks I noticed his drawstring was really torn up and asked him about it. As soon as I showed him how it worked he was perfectly capable and it works just fine still, but the damage to the drawstring is enough that it will probably shorten the bag’s functional life. If you’re giving to a younger child, I’d just make sure they see the toggle and know how it works.

My black-on-black TYR Mesh Mummy Backpack (40L) so far has worked well. Our use-case falls under "workout gear," being a well ventilated container for sweaty protective martial arts sparring equipment. For us, our current stuff fits well when loaded, and the backpack-style bah is considerably easier for the 7-year-old to carry than the 22"x36" flat mesh bag (that could likely hold 6-10 soccer balls). The shoulder straps can be snugged enough for the 7-year-old, while still being able to fit the torso of my 5'6" frame with multiple inches of adjustability to spare. I had concerns about fitting the headgear and chest protector into the bag prior to purchase. While the youth-sized gear fits well, I am not sure if teen or "small adult" gear would fit as anything beyond a 10-11" diameter (~33-34" circumference, being 16-17" flat width) would be approaching the upper limit of the top of the opening of the bag.

Great swim bag! I worried this would be junk because of the price, but it was perfect for my little swimmer. I always used a fully enclosed (non-mesh) bag growing up, so I was a little resistant to my son when he said he wanted this bag. But honestly, this bag is so great. There’s so much more air flow with the mesh, his stuff doesn’t stay wet and get stinky. Nearly every kid on his team uses this bag and the fun colors are perfect for keeping everyone’s bags straight. The bag straps are adjustable so an adult or a child could use it. There’s a place to write your name on it. The front goggles pocket is perfect. The bag is just the right size. My son can easily fit a pair of fins, a snorkel, paddles, goggles, a swim cap, a towel, and a water bottle with room to spare. For reference, my son is a tall 8 year old and this is how the bag fits on him. The only downside to this bag is that it’s not great for putting clothes that are meant to stay dry in. If you lay it down on the pool deck the clothes inside the bag get wet because of the mesh. Also, any underwear in the bag will be seen through the mesh—a horrifying concept for a school age child. This hasn’t been an issue for us whatsoever, but it totally could be for others depending on how they use the bag.

This bag turned out to be perfect for me. It's quite large - easily fits two towels, my shower gear, my swimsuit and swim gear, and still has room to spare. You could definitely get flippers and snorkel in there, too! Or snacks and whatever else you might want if you were going to the beach. The mesh top allows the air to move through your wet gear, but the solid bottom prevents anything from dripping onto your back. The backpack style is awesome for when your arms are too tired from your workout to carry a heavy bag of wet things. Also, if you were traveling, this would double as a great laundry bag for heading out to the laundromat, as it would take up hardly any space in your baggage when empty.
