I can't exactly see what i'm reviewing...
I've bought a ton of Martin strings over the last five years... Most of the time I just buy them direct from Martin or from websites which offer bundle deals (that shall remain nameless for the purposes of this review). The icon that evidences my purchasing of strings through Amazon is soo small, I can't tell what product I'm actually reviewing. I keep a stock of 3-5 each of Light, Custom-Light and Extra-Light in Marquis in my workshop. Additionally, I quite love the various "vintage" (or is it "retro") strings Martin makes. I've strung the Monel ones on resonator guitars and they sound fantastic. I also quite like (like maybe my favorite product Martin makes) 'Silk and Steel' strings. I do not play with a thumbpick and so my thumb seems to appreciate my switching to these strings on my own Art & Lutherie. As they are fairly low tension, they are a perfect string for young hands as well..So, I guess what I'm saying is that any of these products I would give five stars... Having switched from D'addario about 10 years ago, I've really never looked back. If I'm stringing a metal stringed acoustic guitar, I'm stringing it with Martin strings..

Martin-Branded Strings Sound Great On My Custom X Series Guitar
The media could not be loaded. I've been using another brand of strings on my Custom X Series Martin Guitar for a while so I wanted to see what the Martin-branded strings sounded like in comparison.Decided to try the light gauge MA540 Phosphor Bronze since I play regularly at church and practice around the house quite a bit.Strings went on really well and, after tuning and stretching, they had a nice full sound to them. At first, I didn't think they were as bright as I wanted them to be but, after playing for a while, I was really impressed with how they held up and sounded. The day after I put them on, they stayed in tune fairly well ... I had to make some small adjustments but nothing major. Also, when I put my capo on, I didn't have to adjust the tuning too much either. The other brand of strings I use have a rewards program which is a nice incentive. If Martin instituted something similar, I would use these strings exclusively. As far as the sound, tone, and price, I have no complaints.

Great for the price
Can’t beat the price, and pretty good quality! I’ve bought these many of times and probably will buy plenty more through the years!

A wonderful string
As a musician of 20 years I frequently use these strings on my acoustic guitars. They produce a bright tone and pair well with maple and spruce body guitars. These light gauge strings are easy on your fingers and have a long life.

Finally had a crummy string
Great strings, love the full sound from the phosphor bronze. Work great on my Blueridge 000. After buying these for years, finally had the B string nut at the end of the string break off and fall into my guitar while I was installing them. Thought to get a replacement but it's not worth the hassle for 6 or 7 bucks they cost. Will buy again.

Martin acoustic strings are the best!
Been using Martin strings on my acoustic guitars for eons...they sound beautiful, last like nothing else, and feel great under my fingers. Only thing that mildly bummed me out is that the unwound strings are silver... I'm used to the SPs being gold colored. I know, that's a silly thing to complain about!
