The difference is this....KSMPRA is supposed to be a commercial type Stainless Steel Set, whereas, the KPRA is all metal pasta set (& I believe more for home use). However, if make lot of pasta, I'd go for Stainless Steel commercial quality set (KSMPRA) instead. Those are the differences, & I feel it's a biggy, stainless steel going to last little longer because it's more durable, hence the commercial use, etc... Hope this all helps you.
