Carter is totally awesome! But still Sad.
I bought Carter and the white part of his tennis shoes chipped off by touching it gently before I even got him out of the box his right arm feels as if it's gonna fall off but I'm giving him 5 stars cause I Love him he's so awesome I'm disabled and can't drive are even get out so I've started collecting dolls and it gives me something to do but its hard on a small monthly check but that's another plus side since I can't get out I order on line and it comes to me I also want the others in this line Carter fits right in here I Love how realistic he looks and he has piercing eyes Thanks Amazon UPDATE I'm still sad cant change Carters clothes cause I'm scared his right arm is gonna fall completely off and the zipper on his pants is stuck want come down and the shoes are garbage I don't want to send him back I was taking by him as soon as he got here but I wish I could at least change his clothes that's was the reason I got him to dress them up in different clothes off and on I have emailed Carpatina twice NO response you would think what we pay for these Dolls they would at least email you back smh

Why does Carter Keep Looking At Me?
I love dolls. Seriously, I LOVE DOLLS! I was looking for a boy doll to add to my massive doll collection and happened across dear little Carter here. I decided to buy him because 1. He's a boy (needed a boy doll) and 2. He reminds me of a boy who used to live across the street from me named Donnie. Donnie never came outside to play but would always peep out the windows at me when I was outside. Him and Donnie have the same haircut! Anywho, back to my review. So the description says Carter has fixed eyes. Hmmmmm....I think my Carter doll may be defective because I have noticed when I get dressed in the morning his eyes seem to move towards whatever article of clothing I am removing. Sometimes I sleep with my dolls, so one night I decided to snuggle up to Carter for my nightly slumber. I was woken up in the middle of the night to find Carter undressed next to me. After this I became convinced that dear little Carter isn't just a pretty face to look at--there is something sinister going on with this doll. So I did what any sane woman would do....I repackaged him and gave him to my mother in law for her birthday and told her to enjoy!

Fun Fun Fun
I bought this as a gift for my nephew. My nephew tells me that every time he leaves this doll alone with his sisters barbies he always comes back and the barbies clothes are off...

Carpatina dolls are great
I have all the other Carpatina doll and many AG Doll, and 18" Adora dolls. I wanted to purchase Carter to make him Outlander's 'Black Jack' Randall. But when he arrived, I saw he had the perfect face & hair to be Harry Potter's Prof Severus Snape. He is perfect as Snape in costume and is now with my 18" Doll Harry Potter collection which includes Prof McGonagal with her long black dress & broach and crushed green cape, Harry Potter & his snowy owl, HermioneGranger, Ron & Ginny Weasley, Moaning Myrtle, and Draco Malfoy in uniforms. All the others are AG dolls except for Harry. I even have a 7" Flexible Dobby to go with them as well as the AG sorting Hat and Nimbus 2000 for them.

Wish I could give this doll less stars. Why ...
Wish I could give this doll less stars. Why, you ask? I bought this doll thinking my nephew would benefit from everyday doll play rather than the violence that many boy toys promote. Instead, this doll used his mind control powers to enslave my nephew and his friends. Even his mother is acting strange. They are constantly sacrificing packages of hot dogs to the doll and now say "Carter" instead of "Bless you".

High quality doll and outfit did not disappoint this long time doll collector
After nearly 30 years working with modern hard plastic and vinyl fashion and play dolls, and more recently Asian Ball Jointed Dolls, (besides having four children with their own dolls and toys) I have a pretty good feel for what I like and what I don't about any particular doll.Carter is a doll I recently purchased directly from Carpatina ($79), along with the Tudor Tunic .pdf pattern and the Robin Hood outfit ($44). I was very impressed with both the doll and his original outfit terms of quality and detail. I have about nine of the Carpatina 18" doll patterns so far altogether, and have been happy with everything I've sewn so far.He arrived in a sturdy and attractive blue box with oval window, and was pretty easy to remove from the box liner. His outfit consists of white undershorts, undershirt, and socks plus detailed blue jeans (zipper and snap, actual pockets, belt loops, and "Carpatina" label on right back) and vivid blue polo shirt, both lined to help reduce risk of staining--and completed with a pair of blue and white lace up sneakers. All of the clothing items that came with my doll were nicely fitting and well-made.Carter himself is a slim, all-vinyl body doll with flat feet and joints only at the neck, shoulders, and hips. His head sculpting is perhaps the only area where I might have wished for something different, as I think his serious expression makes him look much older than a child doll like the typical 18" dolls are represented to be. His eyes are stationary, and do not open and close. However, he is very high quality--a nice solid feel, good tension in his stringing cord, adequate range of head movement, and nice facial screening. I'd be curious to see what a professional doll repainter could do with this sculpt, however--if he could be given a more boyish look--but even as he is I think he has a nice appeal.Think about the early 1960's crew cut Ken doll, and the challenge it was to sculpt an expression that was not going to make him seem in any way offensive or aggressive. Is it any wonder that male doll characters, especially in doll lines intended for children's play, are so woefully few and far between? And the body proportions are really not any different than that of a typical 18" doll, either. I would perhaps wish he had been given a slightly larger eye opening size, as the smaller eyes do make it a little harder to view his expression as friendly and happy compared to (again) a typical 18" play doll with large, open "sleep" eyes.Male dolls' wigs are always a challenge both to manufacture and cut/style/apply...as just a slight difference in length here and placement there can really throw off the look. Too thin and you can see scalp...too thick and he's ready for his duty shift on the Enterprise. Carter's wig is a really good attempt. There really isn't enough length to try to restyle it much, but it does cover nicely and isn't overwhelming. It's easy enough to peel off if you know how to do this, so he can be rewigged with another hair colour or style if you choose.I bought Carter because I wanted to see for myself what kind of doll he was, and I am very pleased with my purchase. He's going to have a lot of fun being rewigged and recostumed as Thranduil from The Hobbit...and I'm pretty sure we'll be adding Adam yet this year, too. :)

Not happy with product, Carter impregnated my American Girl Doll. Also, his doll friend Adam May or may not have been on To Catch a Predator.
