I have 2 sharks and a few stingrays in mine **Q: Do i have to have a different pump to make it saltwater** A: you use both the pump that comes with the pool and a saltwater pump that you have to purchase or acquire separately. the water goes through the pool pump first and then into the saltwater pump then back into the pool. The pool pump has to be on when the saltwater system is on. The saltwater system has a timer on it. You set the timer to run so many hours depending on the size of your pool. A 15' by 42" pool, the saltwater should be set for 3hours, usually after the sun sets so the chlorine will stay in the water longer. The saltwater pump will come on everyday at the same time. It only needs reset if for some reason it gets shut off.When the saltwater pump is not making chlorine the water simply flows through it and into the pool. My saltwater pump lasted about 9 years and it left the water crystal clear. Had to put 100 pounds of pool salt in at beginning of each season. Make sure the pool pump has been running about 1 day before setting the timer on saltwater pump. I always ran the pool pump 24/7. No problem with pool pump either. Just change filters about every few weeks. **Q: Does it come with the hoses for the pump? I love that I don’t have to worry about it rusting. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Pool *by M***K on July 24, 2022* 12'x30" model I bought my wife an inflatable pool first and realized right away I needed something better. After lots of research and reading a million reviews, we decided this would work best for our situation, and that was the right decision. Now, it says not to put on concrete, and I'm sure that's because concrete will probably tear up the vinyl, so we first laid out some foamy square things and covered our entire back patio with them. I live in the desert and my yard is all rock, so that wasn't going to work, and I needed a pool darn it! So, this thing is sturdy. I was worried at first with the PVC elbows and everything, but it is sturdy as can be. Took all day to fill up, but it is a beautiful specimen. I bought it without the smaller pump as most of the reviews state the included pump isn't too strong, so I bought the next larger pump and haven't had any issues at all. Here are some tips: When setting up check and recheck that there is nothing, and I mean nothing, under the vinyl insert. Somehow three rocks got kicked under and we didn't notice until it was filled. One rock immediately punctured the liner and we were hole hunting on the first night. Used Gorilla tape to patch and it worked perfectly. The next day we found the other two rock and patched them. No other leaks so far! Tip: make sure you balance the chemicals just like you would any pool. Algae grows in pools, you need your chemicals. This isn't a chemical review so I'm not going into details here, but make sure you do your research and keep your pool clean and safe! You can get replacement liners right from Intex so that is what we will do next year instead of storing the liner, but that's your choice obviously. We are just lazy like that. My wife bought a floaty and just lays back in this pool all day every day this summer. It is the perfect depth for a flotation pool. At 12', probably a little small for both of us to float and move around much, but two can definitely float. The biggest thing to note is getting in and getting out. My wife is 5'8" and she can get in and out with a stepstool, but we do have one because she does need it sometimes. If you are looking at the 30" model, you should consider a stepstool. That's it.
