Great Shampoo for Skin Allergies
This is the only shampoo I use on my dog (pitbull) and it exceeds expectations every time. The price is high for a shampoo but it is definitely worth it. It smells great and doesn’t paste up like other allergy shampoos. I have not bought anything else since.

Stoped my dogs from itching
The dogs were using store bought dog shampoo but they always itched. We went to the vet and she sold us this shampoo. It worked. The vet sold it for $15 more than Amazon. I have prime so I get free delivery. It’s the only shampoo that soothes my dogs skin.

Worked great for our dog!
Our dog had been having some skin issues for a while. Several years ago he had some really bad skin issue(s), and we did multiple treatments from the vet (shampoo, antibiotics, ointment, etc.). The issues got quite a bit better, but didn’t fully resolve. We went to a different vet, then a doggy dermatologist. There was some thought he might have food allergies, so we tried “single source protein” diet, and tried unique proteins (e.g. rabbit, venison, kangaroo instead of beef, chicken, pork). Of course the vet prescribed a “available from vets only” dog food, long story, but that annoyed me for several reasons. We did the “vet only” dog food, just to see if it would help. None of this made much of a difference. Per the doggy dermatologist, we tried large doses of an antihistamine, then tried large doses of several others, none of which helped much. I didn’t really like giving our dog large doses of antihistamines, multiple times a day – for several reasons. We had tried another medicated shampoo, prescribed by the vet at the start of the issues, and it did seem to help a bit (but we had also been doing multiple other treatments, so hard to tell what was or wasn’t working), but our dog still had some skin issues.I decided to do some research to see if I could come up with something to improve the situation. I got a bit of a feeling the vets were more interested in $, and recommending the products on their shelves, etc. – than really solving my dog’s problems. I did some Internet research, and looked at product reviews on Amazon. It seemed that our dog ?might? have had a skin fungus issue, that then created side-effects of bacterial infection. The reviews for Ketohex were REALLY good, which is a fairly good sign, but sometimes the reviews are biased by Vine program (getting the product free), or getting some kind of a reward for writing a positive review, or just flat out fabricated by shills. By happenstance, I talked to someone who said Ketohex had done wonders for his dog. I liked the fact that given the possibility my dog had both fungal and bacterial issues, the fact that Ketohex treats both seemed like the right answer. I figured compared to the amount of time and money I had spent at various vets, I should give something under a twenty-spot a chance.Initially we gave the dog a bath, and his condition improved immediately. A couple weeks later, the condition was starting to come back (hair loss, “doggy” odor, red skin, crusty stuff on his skin), so we bathed him again. He improved immediately again, and was much improved for about three weeks, then symptoms starting coming back again. We bathed him again, and we made significant progress again. About 4 weeks later, some symptoms started to come back, so we bathed him again. By this time, his hair was growing back nicely, and his skin / coat symptoms were almost completely gone. He has some small areas with some minor problems still, but his condition keeps getting better with time and each subsequent bath. We’re about 5 months into bathing with Ketohex (roughly 6 or 7 baths now), and his skin and coat are doing very well.I can’t speak for how safe the product is, but it certainly seemed to be VERY effective fixing his skin / coat issues. Amazingly, Ketohex does not seem to dry out his skin or coat. For our dog, it makes his coat very soft and healthy looking – we get regular compliments from random people when we walk our dog; they comment on how beautiful and soft his coat is (even right after we bathe him). It does have a slight perfume smell that we call a “fake strawberry” scent – not sure if is a scent they add to the prodcut, or if the active ingredient(s) have that smell. It isn’t overpowering, or annoying, but if they are adding that scent, I’d prefer they didn’t.Overall, this product seems to have done wonders for our dog – although he absolutely HATES getting a bath – overall he appears to be much better off now that he isn’t constantly licking and scratching himself.

Really Helped alleviate our poor dog's skin condition
Had a dog with some of the worst skin problems that our vet has seen, lost almost all her hair on her back and tail, her skin used to be pink, but it was more black looking, and she would constantly, I mean CONSTANTLY!! itch herself. We did a lot of things to help her, but using this medicated shampoo on her a few times a week (recommended by the vet) was probably one of the best solutions and alleviations for her skin, and we did eventually get her hair to grow 90% back and this really helped eat at the black essentially fungi that was on her skin and we started to see the pink return. It absolutely works best if you follow the instructions (leave on for 10 min and continually irritate it into the skin), and works only mildly if you just slab it on and rinse it off. Also, it smells really good (and there are some dog shampoos I really don't like the smell of).

What a difference in our dog's skin and hair!
My vet recommended this shampoo, so we gave it a try. Not the cheapest dog shampoo on the market, but definitely worth the price. Her skin was tricky; bumpy and red and she scratched a lot. We used the Keto Hex weekly and let it stay on her for about 8 minutes then rinsed. She was so much more comfortable, almost immediately. You could tell she had relaxed and the itching had been relieved. We continue to use this shampoo weekly and will not make a change. Well worth the price.
