KIWI KNIFE CLEAVER (8 inches) #813

This knife is an absolute steal, currently selling for around $12 or so. I have other smaller Kiwi knives that I've grown to love over the last few months, as my new diet causes me to chop a lot of vegetables, which is where these big squared blades excel. They carve meats too, but lack a point some might be used to. I needed a heavier blade to power through tougher things like big squash and some cabbage heads, as well as the occasional roast or bird. This knife is perfect for all of that. Plenty sharp as delivered, with good heft, especially out at the far end, to to assist in plowing through anything I know how to cook. Yet it's not unreasonably heavy; it's well-balanced and comfortable to use all day. I like the natural wooden handle. It has never slipped in my hand like some plastic ones have. It is designed to fit all hands; mine are big, my daughters' are small. It is 1-1/4" wide and 1/2" thick, providing solid no-slip control, yet is comfortably contoured. Please be patient, delivery time is about a month. We are all used to instant satisfaction, but this is from Thailand, apparently a smaller "Mom & Pop" company, but your patience will be rewarded. You won't get a better knife for the dollar. I've tried them all. The smaller Kiwi knives are 2 for $10 and are an absolute steal of a deal. Set of Two 6.5" Kiwi Brand Chef Knives # 172

The appearance is as shown. Ease of sharpening is easy. The quality is awesome! The value for the money is well worth it! The versatility is great chops just about any cooked steaks in seconds. The handling is sturdy and has a good grip.

Knife felt sharp right out of the package but was unable to cut papers, no worries though a few passes through my sharpener and it was shredding through papers with no problem. Knife is thin and light so I'm not expecting it to chop through bones but already knew that before purchasing. Picture included

works as intended and had noproblems with veggies nor with meats of different kind (would not whack coconuts with this due handle) came in as litlebit damaged by airmail but managed to straighten it out with my tools.

very sharp! use paint thinner to remove stickiness from the handle due to the Kiwi lable then coat the wood handles with Boiled Linseed oil (available at HD or Lows) and your handles will be conditioned for a long time, the blades are GREAT!!!

Excellent cleaver for the price. Sharpens up really well. Definitely worth the long wait for it to get to me.

This knife came in dull, and after sharpening it a few times it got sharp. The knife gets dull fast. I do t recommend it at all.

Love this knife! Took a while to get here, but it shipped from Thailand! The knife is sturdy, shard and exactly what I was hoping for. You could spend an extra $100, but why?!
