Line pickups ware out way to fast and water will not drain from reel, so it wil rusted up fast if not left hanging upside down
Junk, too many problems to list...a waste of money.

not that great
I needed a reel for an old spinning rod that someone gave me, and decided to try an 'under-trigger' model instead of a usual 'flip the bail to cast' spinning reel. I've owned Pflueger equipment before, and this reel wasn't too expensive, so I thought I'd give it a try. Even though the reel looks pretty good, the components seem a little flimsy/cheap; and I had some problems with the pins on the spool not catching the line on retrieve. Also, with a hefty lure and a long cast (from a boat) you have to really crank up the drag to get it to pull the line in. If you back it down too much, you can crank the handle all day, and your lure never comes in--and because you can't see what's happening under the spool cover, it's pretty frustrating. At least with an open-spooled spinning reel, you can see what's going on. For about $15 more, you can buy the Pflueger Trion GX-7 (the #35 model) and have a far superior reel--that what I should have done!

Pfluegler underspin...
Recieved this week with usual fine service from Amazon! The item is ok, however not that much different in design compared Shakesphere model also manufactured in China for Pure Fishing Inc. Cannot find the 50% price differential between products after a feature comparison. I own both reels. Link to compare> Shakespeare Synergy Steel Underspin ReelPflueger expected quality does not show in this model. Shame on you Pure Fishing for importing this product. As a user of Pflueger products for over fifty years I would expect more quality differences in the Pflueger model for the additional cost involved!

I like the size and the smooth action
I like the size and the smooth action. I prefer a closed under spin reel opposed to the open face that I have.

Great reel for the price
This is my second underspin Pflueger of this model. I've not had any issues with my first and bought the second as a gift for a friend. The reel casts well and I usually use it for crappie fishing. I would recommend this to a friend.

Garbage
I got the ultralight model 4/70 and it worked fine first time out until the handle fell off...while I was catching a trout. Lost the screw, since I was waist deep in the creek so I sent it back and got another. Got the replacement and went out only to discover this one doesn't cast correctly. I had to whip the heck out of it to get it to cast. It shouldn't have to be said that finesse casting with an ultralight doesn't work to well when you have to throw it like you are casting on the sea for tuna or something. Tried to see if it would just "break in" but it didn't. Piece of garbage. There is no three strikes in my world...two shortened fishing outings is enough. I'm done with the Pflueger experiment. Maybe instead of worrying about putting a nice wooden handle on the thing they should worry about whether it works.

Not Recommended
I have one of these reels and have experienced 2 issues with it. While overall I really like the reel when it is working I cannot recommend it. 1st, I would estimate about 3 percent of the casts this reel for some reason engages the pin and grabs the line mid cast causing whatever you are throwing to stop in its tracks. The 2nd issue that arose is the plastic part that holds the pin has worn out. The pin now only travels 2 thirds of the way in the groove and since the pin extends out as it travels through the groove it is not extending out far enough causing it to loose its hold on the line as the rod tip wiggles. I would recommend you avoid this reel. There is an apparently identical reel sold under the Shakespeare label which I would assume has the same issues.

needs work
This is a replacement for another reel that finally died after 20+ years of service.Purchased this reel as I have other reels by this maker. Upon receiving and installing on pole found that trigger release was not letting spool release for casting. Had to put an o-ring between body and spool cover to get proper amount of room between them to let the spool release for casting. Then found that there was a burr on the spool lip that would catch the line, causing the the line to stop very abruptly. After some light filing and sanding works like it is supposed to.
