I was not going to chuck it so researched how to fix it and where to get the right part. I took the heater apart, took photos of what wires went where double checked the ID numbers on the original switch against the desertcart offering and ordered. When it arrived there were 2 units. Different colour to the original but right ID and make. I detached the wire fixings from the broken one and connected the new using the photos as reference. Slow and steady. Put it all back together. Deep breath - switch on - bingo! All working. Couldn’t be more thrilled. I am a 75 year old woman convinced it had to be a simple fix. An hour working it out online and collecting the right tools then being very patient. It cost me £5something plus PandP. So much cheaper than a new heater and a switch to spare.
