Is it possible just to use the metal plate over an existing socket?

It depends exactly what you mean. Usually the back box in the wall can be left and the new socket wired and placed on the front (most screw positions are standard). You couldn’t just take the metal plate off this and stick it on another socket in situ, it wouldn’t fit. In other words expect to get your screwdrivers out to rewire the socket. Not difficult but make sure you know what you are doing.

Does this model come with usb ports too?

I didn't get usb ports on mine but they may be available??

As this question has been put out to previous customers of this product, I assume you mean generally can they be swapped out for other white sockets. In that case the answer is yes just like nearly all sockets can.

Stylish sockets

Bought these and the matching light switch to compliment colour scheme of my room. They are really good quality so recommend

Good quality

These are so much better quality than anything you can find in Screwfix etc. Installed some Hamilton sockets in a similar colour about 5 years ago: they are now scratched and rusting in places. I think this is unlikely to happen to these as they are much better quality. Also easier to install, with the faceplate just clicking on after all the connecting and adjustment has been done.

No problems fitting to new socket. Took a little bit of care removing the front plate to avoiding scratching the finish, but all worked well when fitted
