100% elimination of alternator noise on Android head unit.
After read many reviews for noise filters, I took a risk on this one. I wanted a 20 amp filter for my android head unit installed in my 2002 Honda CR-V with aftermarket alternator. (NAPA Brand). I had a background high frequency buzz that was RPM based and it was very annoying. The IBNF50 arrived overnight and I popped the metal back off to inspect the solder joints. Minimal build quality, but functional. Double sided tape provides anti-grounding protection to the metal box. I desoldered the provided wires (that were very thick and could handle 50 amps) and directly soldered it into the wire harness on the back of the Android radio. I used the yellow power for Vin and Vout and spliced directly into the harness ground rather than the car body. I reassembled the box, taped it up on the wire harness so it wouldn't create any wire stress and fed it all back into the dash. 100% cessation of alternator noise. Very happy with this solution. Given that the head unit has a 20 amp fuse it will never pull enough amps to saturate the noise filter windings. I will buy this again for other filter needs.

Worked great for my Toyota pickup
Installed an aftermarket deck and Alpine 4 ch amplifier for the speakers in my 1985 Toyota pickup. Loud alternator whine from the speakers that I couldn’t seem to fix through multiple ground attempts. Installed this between the battery and the amp and the whine is gone! Very happy. It actually mounted right on the inner fender wall with existing holes.

Ignition noise still there when RPMs rise.
I have an old MSD ignition with a new Aurora Radio that had very loud feed back from my ignition system. After installing this noise filter in line with the power to the radio (Radio not installed), the noise from the ignition was removed, or so I thought. After installing the radio (big job) mounting the noise filter on the fire wall up out of sight and going for a ride, there is noise from the ignition! Fortunately the noise is reduced about 80 %. Before the noise filter, the ignition noise was louder than the music. After installing this noise filter the music is louder than the ignition noise. However the ignition noise is still there when I bring up the RPMs.

THANK GOODNESS FOR THIS
After months of researching solutions and nearly giving up, THIS cheap and easy to install noise filter completely eliminated the alternator whine in my 2004 mustang. Alternator to input, battery cable to output. Can't believe the solution was this easy.

Seem' really good quality. But heart attack when open.
Mine came with The metal cap not glued correctly. So I can see the inside. And I never put hardware on my car without testing. I'm glad it arrived slighly opened. I didn't tested it at all for the moment. But It need more insulation for pcb connection, reflow the unmelted solder, and check crimping of cables. The connexion of cable: solder unmelted completely, and not completely crimped. Wire are really thick for this price it's a good point. For the pcb itself it seem' well made. between IBNF 50 and IBNF 30 it's the same pcb but wire for the transformer is really thicker on IBNF 50 due to the fact it's made for 50amps. I don't think the brand try too fool you. But before plugging this in do what I said. And instal cable fixation in all possible holes of the pcb. I will made a review for ibnf 30 a

I can't seem to get the noise out of my radio.
I installed this product and even added a larger ground wire and for some reason I can't get the whine out of my stereo. I must be doing something wrong. An electronic shop said to install a larger ground, which I did,and I still have the whine. Either I'm doing something wrong or this product did not work for my application.

The unit works as expected. Has nice connectors. I shaved the sides down so I could bolt them straight to my amplifiers. Good guage of wire provided. Well insulated. Flexible, braided wire. I'd certainly purchase them again! I had a loud alternator noise and my electronic aftermarket fans were quite noisy - I purchased two of them and they took all the noise out of the amps.
