Fourth, the red "temperature ring" works as advertised (it's only the ring, not the inner dot, that changes color) and it is predictable and easily readable. Fifth the 8" size is perfect for me and my two egg breakfast. Sixth, the shape of the sides of the pan is perfect, it is pretty straight and not curved. I greatly prefer the straight, slanted sides. There is a red dot in the middle that changes color when the pan is properly preheated but I don't usually look at it. It is dishwasher safe but in my experience non stick pans last much longer when hand washed, and this is very easy to wash. Also, the non-stick coating works great. I have used T-fal pans in the past and I have been very satisfied with them so I expect to feel the same about this one. (Without adding a heating disk between the cooktop and pan.)** A: Since people have mixed results with different cooktops, I wanted to note that it works great with a GE Profile induction range (PHS930) **Q: Is this pan made in France?** A: I called the T-Fal customer service number 1/3/14 at 1pm Eastern and they said Group SEB, the company's headquarters is in France, but the Professional cookware line is manufactured in China. Please be aware, Group SEB also owns Air Bake, Mirro, WearEver and All Clad so production of all items in these brands may be changing their original point of manufacture. Works well *by C***Y on October 8, 2023* I usually do not use non stick pans anymore. Stainless is the way to go but there are things where you kind of need/want it. Like eggs. Thats why I always bought an 8" non stick pan for little thigs like eggs and a quick fish filet. I used to have the Amazon essential pan but they seem to have stopped selling that. I remembered T-Fal was always good if the pan was small. Larger ones always warped but the small ones were good. This one.... unfortunately would stick. I tried oil and pam. It was fine but the eggs still stuck to it. I read the reviews and nobody really had that issue so I decided to exchange this pan with the same one. I tested it today and nothing sticks. This is a solid pan, feels nice in your hand and is heavy which I like. Not too heavy its only 8". So yes this was a production error or something and I got a new one within 2 days.
