This piece is not what I'd call fine handcrafted furniture but it is very good quality for the price (especially for Made in China stuff) and it is very sturdy. One thing to know is that it is a very heavy piece. The wood is heavy and the finish hard, so it shouldn't damage easily, but it isn't exactly easy to move around. The hardware is also sturdy and there is a lot of storage space. There are no fumes as one of the questioners asked, and I'm pretty picky about that sort of thing. Assembly was not difficult (I've definitely done far worse furniture assembly projects) and it took me about an hour and I was able to do it by myself with a Phillips screwdriver and the Allen wrench provided (Ok, I had assistance from the cat). The screw holes on my piece lined up just fine. The only fit and finish comment I have is that all four sides of the legs are not finished (just the outside) and the fit of the legs to the box could have been a little more precise, but I'll probably be the only person who ever notices. Again, for the price, not bad. I did underestimate how big this thing is however, but that's my own fault. It makes a good end table, but it is not a small one, so do measure carefully to make sure it works for you. It's too big to practically send back. The good news is that I have another purpose for it than my originally intended plan, so I'll be keeping it.

I know some people think that 5 Star ratings are fake or from the seller...this is not the case and I don't give out a full 5 Stars very often. I this product deserves it, especially for the price. You get a lot more quality than what you are paying for. This trunk is made of thick solid wood. The finish is impeccable and the hardware gives it a rustic and warm feel and adds character to our room. I like it so much that I would like to use it as an end table but we are accustomed to having an upper and lower shelf. This offers plenty of storage space it is very deep. I am impressed. Full assembly is required. It only took me about 20 minutes to put it together, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I will be ordering a couple more of these for our sunroom that is in need of new end tables...we don't use that room as much so the lack of a bottom accessible shelf is irrelevant.

These are gorgeous. They are a really really rich deep dark color....exactly what I wanted. These pieces would sell for $400 or more each in my local furniture store. They are awesome. Holds HUGE blankets and pillows. Now....the only thing you need to watch out for is the assembly....Take your time. DO NOT USE A DRILL....My wife put together the first one and used hand tools. Awesome. I thought I was much smarter...and used a dewalt drill. The drill screws the connectors TOO TIGHT, then the cams do not connect easily. I fixed it...but I had to listen to my wife say "I told you not to use a drill" the entire time. Use hand tools and take your time...and do not have too much coffee....LOL. These tables are outstanding. Don't let the assembly scare you. Hope this helps somebody. NOTE:These are way higher quality then I ever expected. Real wood. Not garbage.

Once assembled it is a fairly good quality wood end table. Fairly good means the gaps where the sides and top fit together are more uneven than you would get from a table that was assembled by a skilled table builder in a workshop. The wood is heavy and more than adequate for the price. The downside to this table is the assembly. When I read the reviews saying it takes an hour to put together, I laughed at the inept reviewers. It took me an hour and a half and when I was done I was bleeding and covered in sweat. It wasn't that the assembly was so complex, it was that the pieces fought me at every turn. Everything was awkward and hard to see. I stabbed myself with the sharp screws, I pinched my fingers, I assembled two of the sides in reverse order and had to take it all apart and start over because the final step hinge holes were on the wrong side. Follow the directions carefully and pay attention to which side piece you should be using, they are labeled with letters. If you want to know how frustrating the assembly can be, go out on your deck and take your grill apart and then put it back together. If you don't have a grill, use the engine in your car. I am happy with the table. It looks like the pictures. The wood is thick and heavy. It is a little bigger than I thought it would be. 4 stars.

Amazing quality, very sturdy and well made. Was fairly easy to put together. Just make sure you pay attention to the henge placement and the sides when putting together.

We were looking for two nite stands to fit beside the bed. These worked perfectly. Very nice wood and solid hardware. Very easy to put together. All the hardware only screws in one way into the pre-drilled holes so you can't make a mistake. Very well built and heavy. Nice storage option. The only thing i would do after you put them together is to allow to store in an un-used room or garage to air out for a couple of days prior to putting them to use, because the stain smell is pretty strong... Love em!

Looks OK but it wobbles, the pieces don't fit very well, and some of the screw holes were really hard to work. Have had better experiences with Amazon furniture before, and this was more expensive. Not particularly happy.

well, some assembly is apparently subjective, not a handle or bracket is together so its building from scratch, this thing is heavy and i am sure after a lot of wood glue to seal it up i could probably stand on it. they get mega points for all of the holes lining up to where they are supposed to - anyone that has had to put something together knows how precious that really is. directions are total birdcage liners but its a box, if you can figure out a square you can build it too.. i am going to eventually love it, right now i am still a little pissy about the wrestling match i had trying to put it together. its heavy, so if you can put it together with someone do so, just make sure its some one you dont mind not talking to again
