Absolutely Phenomenal!
Outstanding product! I needed a solution for the most difficult, almost imperceptible audio 'noise' for my professional voice over recordings with my professional mic. This product takes the place of thousands of dollars of soundproofing. If you need to have professional soundproofing and your budget is not huge, this is the answer. I absolutely love the quality of the build, the ease of installation and the ease of use. Plus, the shiny chrome finish is nice to look at.Couple of notes: Even though this is not heavy, you DO need a boom that will hold a larger or weightier mic. A cheap, lower-quality boom will not hold this. You CAN use this from a hanging position if needed. The pop shield is a nice touch and can be used or not. You will still get great soundproofing regardless.*Note: There is a setscrew that secures the pop shield from removal, so you need to be aware of it before trying to slide the shield up (see picture). I did not know about the setscrew when I first tried to slide the pop shield up and I got frustrated (my bad). But it's easy to loosen with no tools, so no worries.OVERALL, this is a terrific product and terrific solution to ANY unwanted noises when you record. I love mine. Much more economical than spending 30K on soundproofing the entire room.Love it! Highly recommend!

Greatly reduces echo
It definitely reduces echo and greatly improves sound quality. Only thing is that it’s like 2 lbs, so a boom suspension mic stand won’t work; and it “sits on top of” the mic w/ no real security - however, it’s still pretty hard for it to tip over. Overall, worth it, it’s like a portable studio around the mic

Exactly what I needed
I had been looking at upgrading my equipment with the isovox box and this puppy is a game changer. It's only $100 dollars and the isovox is $1000. The quality of my recordings is a hundred times better. I did have difficulty attaching my shock mount with my RODE NT1-A, but I improvised by cutting small slits in the bottom of the foam for a better fit. This just saved me lots of $ and I am really pleased.

Great for those who can't acoustically treat their rooms.
I've been using this product for a year now, and it hasn't failed me yet.I make videos on gaming as a hobby; nothing too extravagant in both set-up and equipment used. The Auray Iso-Armor-2 comes in handy as it would have cost me more to purchase enough acoustic tiles to treat my room. Not to mention I'm not in the position to be altering my room in such a fashion; even if it's just smacking a bunch of foam on the walls. That said, this does a great job cutting out surrounding and background noise. Great example: my dad is a pretty loud talker. My bedroom with the door closed, and I can still hear him past a wall and a door on his computer roughly 25-30 ft away. Without this, my mic would easily pick up his voice. With this, you can easily miss it if you didn't know the background noise existed! So it definitely does the job of protecting the mic from background noise.I've also used it whenever I had to be in online meetings. My neighborhood has it's random bouts of loud noises; revving cars or kids screaming their lungs out in the streets. As it is with my dad's voice; you can barely hear those background noises unless you were actively paying attention for such instances.Unfortunately, it does go for $100. On the expensive side for most, I'm sure; but it does cost less to purchase enough acoustic foam tiles to smack onto your walls. And on the plus, it's effectiveness and sturdiness do somewhat make up for the pricing; though I only bought it because it was on sale and I had gift cards.Another con is the size. There's no denying the Iso-Armor-2 is a bulky boy! It would require a pretty sturdy mic stand to withstand the weight and size; something that Auray does sell. However, a good workaround I've been using is simply a delivery box with a hole cut out from the top so that the bottom of a mic can fit through. It makes for a pretty sturdy, if not somewhat bulky, stand and costs practically nothing as you're just recycling a delivery box of adequate size.Overall, it's a pretty sturdy and reliable piece of equipment. It does the only job it's tasked to do; to block out or severely cut down on background noises. The price is somewhat steep, but it's effectiveness and sturdy construction somewhat justifies the pricing. And as for a stand, just use an adequately sized delivery box.

A very nice tool to have for home recording.
Let me start by talking about the only con: take the shock mount out of the bottom in order to properly set this up. I use an AT4040 and it was not easy to set up. I used the extra rubber bands to secure it my own way. After that, it was sturdy. - Aside from that, this is a very nice piece of equipment to have if you do not have a treated room to record. Even in a treated room I would still use this for its perks.Does it work?If you’re looking to get professional treated vocal booth level silence for your recordings, it obviously isn’t going to give you that, but this thing drastically improved my recording conditions after I moved and had to record in an untreated room. It not only decreases background noise, but it helps bring more accuracy to your vocals. What I mean by that is, it increases the strength of your vocals by refusing to let the sound escape in multiple directions during recording. If recording vocals, it helps the mic pick up the sound directly while deadening the noise and air around it. This makes the vocal come through fuller and clearer. I could go on about why I really enjoy having this little tool, but I’ll make it very clear for those unfamiliar with how these things work..It will help make your vocals clearer, fuller and eliminate a good amount of background noise and unwanted reverb, echo and feedback.
