Smells Like Christmas, Tastes Like 50+ Years of Perfection
Iโve been drinking MarketSpice Cinnamon Orange Tea since I was six years old. That was 1972. Back then, I bought it directly at Pike Place Market when I lived across the lake from Seattle. Decades later, now living in Louisiana, this is how I still get itโand Iโm happy to report it hasnโt changed one bit. This tea is absurdly versatile. Drink it hot, drink it cold, add milk or donโt, sweeten it or leave it aloneโit always works. I even use it as a base for my Christmas mead, which should tell you something about both its strength and its character. The first time I introduced a friend to it, she opened the tin, paused, and said, โIt smells like Christmas.โ That pretty much sums it up. The flavor is bold, rich, and unmistakable. The cinnamon and orange oils are real and unapologeticโnone of that weak, dusty spice you get from most grocery-store teas. This is a tea that announces itself before you even brew it. There are two important things you must know before buying: First, store the loose tea in glass or porcelain. Under no circumstances should this tea be stored in plastic. The essential oils are so strong they will literally melt or deform plastic containers. Yes, including Tupperware. Ask me how I know. Second, the brewed tea will permanently stain plastic. If youโre making iced tea, use a glass pitcher or dedicate one pitcher to this tea alone unless you enjoy explaining why your plastic is now permanently amber. Iโve been drinking this tea for over 50 years, and the quality today is exactly what it was when I was a kidโbold, aromatic, and completely uncompromising. MarketSpice hasnโt chased trends, watered it down, or โmodernizedโ it into mediocrity. Theyโve just kept making it right. If you want a tea that actually tastes like something, that smells incredible, and that has stood the test of half a century, this is it. Five stars, without hesitation.

MarketSpice is as good as the reviews
I lived in Seattle for almost 20 years. However, in all that time, and even going down to the Pike Place Market at least 2 or 3 times a year (we lived far east of town), I never "knowingly" drank MarketSpice Tea. However, we moved to North Carolina and "discovered" this wonderful drink. We also became avid tea drinkers. A good part of that conversion, was due to MarketSpice Tea. The flavors are spicey, pungent, smack you up side the head intense. If you like Lipton, you won't like this. We use the loose tea only. Yes, it's a little more of a hassle compared to tea bags, but worth it due to the freshness, flavor, etc. Also, until the our last purchase, which was from Amazon, we always ordered from MarketSpice themselves. They're great people, they always shipped what I wanted, etc. I'll never buy from them directly again. They don't want to move into the 21st Century when it concerns automation and I respect that. However, I have. Amazon gives me the capability to do both; order my favorite tea and do so online, with a company that remembers my address, credit card, etc. I can wholeheartdly recommend this product and ordering through Amazon. If you like tea, you owe it to yourself to try this product. 9/1/2014 - So, after eight years (has it really been that long!) I thought I should add this to my review since Kathy Gill pointed out that MarketSpice has definitely come to the 21st century in regards to their web site and eCommerce. First off, and most importantly, let me assure you I still drink MarketSpice tea each and every morning. Their web site may have changed but the tea hasn't! And, thanks to Kathy, I took at look and sure enough, their pricing is very good. However, when you add in the shipping (and I didn't check for sales taxes) their total price is still more than Amazon (what I generally find) if you have a Prime membership. So, I will continue purchasing MarketSpice tea and I will continue to order from Amazon. But, I sure appreciate knowing about their web site. Lots of interesting things there! Doesn't it make you wonder what changed at the company?

Incredible flavor!
When I serve this to guests, they can't get over the flavor and that there's no sugar in it. I've been a fan of this tea for decades. The 1 pound loose tea is a great value. I like to brew it pretty strong. The quality is superb and consistent. I don't like sweet tea - with sugar - but this flavor is amazing. It makes a great iced tea, too. It is available in a decaffeinated version.

An incredible tea
This tea has incredible flavor and no sweeteners, but you wonโt believe it when you taste it. The sweetness comes only from the special cinnamon used. This is a tea everyone should try. It will knock your socks off. You can rebrew the tea a second time for a decaffeinated experience. The cinnamon and orange flavor lasts. This is a great tea to get you going or to soothe you.

Smells nice but way to sweet, corrosive to plastic and artificial flavoring!
The marketspice tea ruined the ingenuitea infuser that I purchased from amazon. There are etch marks all over the plastic tea infuser like the tea was eating through the plastic. I did not store the tea in the infuser! Noticed the same thing on the clear plastic storage container I put the tea in. I am out 20 for the tea, 18 for a new infuser, and 10 for a new storage container. The tea description said nothing about storing in glass at the time I made the purchase. The description on amazon of the tea says natural flavor but the bag that I received today states the tea has artificial flavoring. Would not have purchased if I had known that there was artificial flavor. I tried the tea anyway because there were so many positive reviews on the taste. The tea has very little classic black tea flavor and instead taste like a spicy chai tea with lots of sweet sugar alternative. The bag does not list any sugar alternative in the ingredients. I had to dump the first cup because I like my tea strong and the sugar alternative was overpowering. I like to put honey in my tea so having the tea be so extremely sweet was disappointing. It was like I had 3 to 4 tablespoons of sugar in the tea. The sugar alternative did not have an after taste so I suspect the tea has sugar alcohols which can cause intestinal gas. The orange flavor was not evident but the tea did have a nice orange aroma. I wish I would have kept the package so I could post the ingredient label that states it has artificial flavor. The packaging might be different now because people are saying it doesn't have artificial flavors. 8-2-2013 In response to people who still think this tea is natural MarketSpice Teabags Market Spice Cinnamon Orange The bags (not loose leaf) of the same tea says artificial flavor in the ingredients, check out the amazon link if you don't believe me. My loose leaf bag specifically said artificial flavor. I drink rooibos tea and licorice tea regularly and neither are sweet. The sweetness IS from sugar alcohol (same as sugar free gum) which can be listed as natural but can cause digestive discomfort if too much is consumed (a few grams or more). When I bought this the directions did not say anything about keeping it in a glass container. The tea ruined my plastic tea infuser. I bought this tea because of the good reviews and had to publish my own review based on my negative experience. This tea is not for someone who likes to use honey or drink tea for health benefits.
