Exceeded my expectations
I admit, I've been buying, almost exclusively, Wayfarer and Clubmaster knock-off sunglasses for over 30 years. I've always liked the styles, but $5-$40 a pop buys a wide variety of quality, not necessarily dependent on their cost, and they are seldom good for more than a couple seasons regardless of price.A little while back I finally bought a pair of authentic Clubmaster eyeglass frames (yes my eyes are getting old, imagine that) and have been very pleased with the classic Clubmaster styling (small alterations of the cut on some knock-offs can make a large difference in appearance), as well as the exceptional quality of the frames (compared to the knock-offs, at least, some of which only lasted a couple weeks at best before lenses or arms were falling off; always disappointing).I found myself in need of a pair of sunglasses and decided it was time to splurge for some authentic Wayfarers. I was reluctant ordering online regarding exactly which style and size of wayfarer would best suit my face. I came down on the original Wayfarer style, as I tend to favor the original classic look, and I got lucky, as these (50-22) were the perfect fit for me.My ultimate appreciation though was regarding the quality of the frames. They are heavy and solid and obviously built to endure. I'd also bought a second hundred dollar pair of glasses in a similar style from another popular maker at the same time to decide which style I liked better and best suited me -- and though I really like the style (as much as, though not more than the Wayfarers) they are much lighter. Some people may like the lighter frames, but they just do not feel as substantial to me -- being more reminiscent of the feel of the knock-offs I'd always considered temporary throw-away glasses.Ultimately, I will say that I am pleased enough with this purchase that I've actually taken the time to put it into writing. As always the Amazon shopping experience, the item being very well packaged, the knowledge of free returns if necessary, and the prompt two-day Prime shipping were also much appreciated.

The best old school sunglasses EVER
I used to have the Original Wayfarers back in the 80's, always the sturdiest made sunglasses around - and nothing has changed. They STILL are the best and the ones I received didn't disappoint. In fact, I realized that the lens that are made of glass, have a better clarity than plastic ones, which have been present in many of the newer sport sunglasses. I love Maui Jim's and have a pair, but they are best out on the water, than in general daily usage. I chose the RB2140 original frame 50mm, as opposed to the square version or the low bridge option, as I have a "strong" framed nose which elevates the sunglasses at the right height. For those who have a small nose or small nose bridge; I would recommend the low-bridge version at 50mm - not 54mm.

The Original is still the best!
I ordered this style (RB2140) in both Classic black w/crystal green lenses, and in Tortoise w/crystal brown lenses - both in 50mm size and both POLARIZED. I live at the beach and polarization is a must. I haven't noticed any interference with LCD screens as mentioned in some reviews of the polarized lenses. These are beautiful glasses, nice sturdy weight, trademark slant, no creaking. They feel snug and secure on my face and when propped on my head (yes, a no-no but I can't help it sometimes).I previously tried the New Wayfarer (RB2132) in the 54mm size and sent them back. They were lighter than these Originals but the hinges creaked and they were too big. I am a tall female with what I would consider an average size head/face.One note about the Tortoise - they are dark...almost look solid brown until you see them in the light. So guys, don't be afraid of these, they aren't feminine...I believe JFK wore the tortoise frame??!!CON - only one....the is a "P" after the Ray-Ban script logo on the right lens. I didn't expect that.....still getting used to it.

Gorgeous and surprisingly durable
From a style standpoint, these glasses are gorgeous. From a functionality standpoint, the lenses could stand to be a bit darker. I've never owned polarized glasses before and they do reduce eyestrain and glare, but using a phone while wearing them can be a chore. They're remarkably durable. Typically if I'm wearing a pair of sunglasses and bonk my head into something (a doorframe getting in and out of a car seems to be typical) they're forever off kilter. These have been bonked at least 2-3 times with no signs of trouble. Additionally they took a trip to multiple beaches and went into the ocean at one point - no scratches, hinges work great, still look and feel like new. Glad they came with a case :-)

Classic like converse and jeans.
I've owned several pairs or Original Wayfarers over the years because they are the perfect everyday sunglasses. They wrap tight around your head, look good, and also block the sun!A lot of people say they'd rather just buy gas cheap gas station sunglasses so they don't have to worry about breaking or losing them... These don't break easily, the lenses don't scratch easily, and you will care about them more because you will enjoy wearing them. I've definitely gotten my money's worth. There's a reason these things have been around forever. Solid construction. Classic look.
