This is great! Hardly notice that it is there but it’s comforting to know that my mattress is protected.

I called 2 top brands asking details about complete mattress encasements, but both told me that since it was for dust mites & not bed bugs, all that is needed is a mattress protector, not a total encasement. And this brand said it can be washed in 130°, which kills dust mites. This goes on easier than fitted sheets do, because it's bottom membrane is blousy and ample, so you don't have to pull hard to get it onto the mattress corners. It is so much easier than a total encasement to change & keep clean. The terrycloth cover doesn't shift at all,fits like a glove, and feels good to sleep on. I fully recommend it. I even recommend it to those with bed bugs, because if I had bed bugs, I'd never want to take an encasement off. They would be very difficult to remove. This protector is washable and waterproof, so it would keep the encasement clean and be a comfortable, quiet, cleanable layer.

Does the job and priced right.Perfect for a potty training toddler who sometimes crawls into bed with mommy. I don't really get the reviews that complain it is loud. It is "swishy" when you fold it or put it on the bed, but unless you are holding it in your arms and squishing it while sleeping, it is not an issue. It fits perfectly still and noiseless under the sheets. I also tend to run hot when sleeping and have not noticed an increase in the temperature of my mattress. It's definitely a plastic backing, so one could see how this would happen--but I don't see a way to make the fabric both breathable and waterproof (especially not at this price point).

Really great quality mattress cover, I've washed it several times and it's held up well. It's been put to the waterproof test with my newborn and has protected our mattress well. It has great deep pockets that actually fit my deep mattress which usually does not fit any fitted sheets, so that's saying something. It doesn't feel crunchy like some waterproof things can and would probably work well as a fitted sheet (instead of the one that comes with the sheet set) as the terrycloth top is very nice. My only drawback is that the terrycloth does hold pet hair and lint a bit more than some sheets, so if you have very furry dogs like mine that want to hop on your bed than you may find the pet hair woven in the fibers a bit more than some other fabrics- but it washed out better than some cotton materials I own so I'm a happy buyer.

I have an elderly cat with several interlocking health problems that result in him urinating on my bed during flare ups every few months. I got this mattress cover a year ago, hoping it would let me focus on caring for the cat's health instead of stressing over my mattress. It works better than any mattress cover I've ever tried - stays in place for weeks at a time through normal sleeping and sheet changes, then holds up without leaks when the cat goes through a crisis. TMI I suppose, but this cat's kidney problems mean that when he goes, he goes A LOT - like, human bladder volumes sometimes - and this cover hasn't leaked yet. I have a different brand bought more recently at a local big box store, but it pops off under the sheet, is loud and crunchy, and has developed cracks in the waterproofing after only a couple months. I just bought two more of this excellent model so that I can swap them out immediately as needed, and avoid the "keep the cat off the bed while the laundry runs" dance.

We purchased a new memory foam mattresses and bought this to keep the mattress clean and reduce dust mites from getting into the mattress. We had several spots on our other 2 year old mattress from our dog after he threw up on it and it had stained the mattress - we didn't want our new mattress getting stained again (since I refuse to not allow my dachshund sleep in our bed). It has a soft terry cloth top, the elastic firmly fits around the mattress and stays in place. I have also had less itchy eyes and sneezing since we had been using it. I hadn't realized how dust mites get into the mattress and this obviously has reduced them. We have washed it weekly when we wash our sheets and it has held up nicely. I highly recommend it. Since we wash it weekly I don't expect it to hold up more then a year. I haven't had a spill yet (or vomit) to know how it holds up to water but with the plastic backing on it I am certain it will do exactly as it advertises.

Worth the money !! I’ve tried several “waterproof” cover and all have left me disappointed.. but when j came across this, I thought it’s too good to be true for the money. But I said screw it I’ll try it. AND IM SO GLAD I DID !! My boyfriend has two boxers and occasionally his niece leaves the door open if she comes in and they come in and pee on his bed.. well with a new 1,400 $ mattress ruined we weren’t happy. After buying a new one and having to flip the mattress against the wall to prevent an accident Again, I received this in the mail. LIFE SAVER LET ME TELL YOU GUYS !! They have came in and pissed on the bed I swear atleast 15-25 times... and OUR MATTRESS WAS SAVED !!!! Not one drop came through ! We’ve had it for about 1.5-2 years and it’s still going strong ! FOLLOW THE CARE INSTRUCTIONS !!! And use the cool air setting like recommended for drying, if you use heat it will damaged the plastic water proof layer and that’s why some people say it “doesn’t work, leaks after washing/over time” Worth the money. !! Even bought 2 more for my house Incase I spill a drink, and sent one to my parents over-seas.

Nice and soft. Fits snugly. The 4 stars because I do find it kind of hot in spite of others' opinions. It's impossible not to feel the vinyl/plastic or whatever the plastic material is under the terry cloth. But then, all protectors do have a plastic like lining anyways. It is good value for the money considering how expensive these covers are. ***Update*** I have warmed up to this cover a lot. Have gotten so used to it I no longer notice the difference of it being kind of "hot". It's gotten very soft with each wash and usage (although it was soft to begin with, but so much better now). It has prevented some major spills into my mattress, so I totally recommend it! This is actually the first time I bother with an update on a review. ***Update*** While I was perfectly happy with this cover, the reality is that I don't know how the 15 year warranty applies to it. Three years laters, my mattress got ruined. The cover didn't do the job. It seeped all the way through. Plus, after a few washes, the top fabric which is kind of flimsy had bald spots. I didn't care as long as it did the job, but it didn't. For the price I would still buy it, but realisticly speaking, it won't last you more than 3 years!

Bought the queen size version for my nephew in spare room. On his 2nd visit at my place he had a small accident, and I quickly washed the bed protector with warm water on easy cycle. No stains on bed and no leaks on mattress. I have also tested it on my bed, and have no issues with heat (I am pretty heat sensitive and so is nephew). I have tried the Priva mattress pads and I find those run a bit hotter. I also didn't have issues with it being noisy, perhaps some reviewers move a lot in bed.
