Can anybody test and let me know if the sound is the same IF the speaker is upside down, I am thinking of fixing them under a shelf to save desk space

Do these stay silent when not in sue or have a white noise sound?

They do stay silent. However, Sue gets really noisy...the dirty girl.

Is there a way of turning off the lights? I find the blue light quite off-putting.

Yes you can, simply unscrew the screws on the base (they’re concealed beneath the foam) remove the base from the speaker to expose the LED wires - simply cut/remove them. Bingo, no blue lights and arguably much better! The wattage is so low you don’t need to worry about any electrical issues.

Is it possible to turn of the blue neon light or keep it off?

You can disconnect but it will void your warranty. Easy to do though, remove base (a few screws, and cut/insulate either of the two wires going to the LED board, then refit the base.
