Horrible introduction
Came in new and fast, which why they earned two stars. They started the story through the third person's opinion and negativity. No introduction on how Helen got sick or Annie's arrival. On 4th page, the page number says 16. Chapter 3 on page 24; there was no Chapter 1 or 2. As a Deaf person, I am VERY disappointed. Returning the book and will contact the publishing company with my strong correction on the book and how they view at our deaf community. Do your research on Helen Keller, she was an amazing human being,

Perfect for my ESL student
My student is an adult, and reads at about a fifth grade level. It's hard to find material that is both age-appropriate and accessible for an adult working on ESL. This book is great for her -- in one chapter, maybe ten or fifteen words need to be looked up and practiced. The story is so much better for an adult learner than fairy tales or other books for kids.

Excellent Elementary History Book
I am currently buying books to augment my son's first grade history and I LOVE this one. It is factual without being overly graphic and depicts her whole life, thus giving scope of all Helen Keller overcame. I am looking forward to introducing him to Braille and sign language as mention in the biography. Excellent depiction of an amazing woman and the people who helped her.

Great read
Helen Keller's story inspired me as a young girl. I am so glad I can now share this story with my son. My son is in fourth grade, but if your child reads very well this book could definitely be read by younger readers. This story is also a great way to teach children about accepting others, as well as overcoming the various limitations that life puts on us.

Great educational options for young readers!
This book series is perfect for my students! I especially like the fact that there are quite a few interesting, educational options in this series, and not just narrative options.

Great book to use in school!
I used this book with my first graders. I showed it using the Kindle app on my whiteboard and I read the story while the children followed and looked at the pictures. We read the whole book in two sittings (with a Braille activity in between) and they were really interested and focussed the whole time. They thought Helen Keller was an amazing person! The pictures in the book are beautiful and the text is easy to read but not too simple. The children learned many new words as we read the story. Most of the children want to read the book themselves at home, so I might have quite a queue of people waiting to borrow tablets!

Just right account of the story of Helen Keller. ...
Just right account of the story of Helen Keller. I bought this for a younger person to accompany the film. The book is age-appropriate whereas the film could be a bit unsettling for a younger person.
