i bought this to use with my webcam. It ended up being too difficult to use for my purposes. It was not as easy to bend as I wanted it to be, and put too much pressure on the clamp. I was unable to get it to stay put anywhere but a really thin table. It would be great if you wanted to place it somewhere weird and never have to move it again, but for me fighting with it for 20 minutes every single time i needed to move it was too much. (maybe a stronger armed person would enjoy this item)For the purposes of using a webcam I found the flexible tripods to be a better solution.

Depending on what you clip it to, it may or may not do the job. On tables it will work. But I had wanted to to attach it to my tripod and/or microphone stand. Although the clamp is very tight (so tight it's hard to open), it will not properly stay on some non-flat surfaces. In addition, the quick release plate is so tight (and there's nothing you can do to loosen it) that I am sometimes afraid I will damage whatever is on it when trying to remove it.I would recommend this product for those who want to clip it to a table like shown in the picture. Attaching it to a tripod or stand probably won't work.

The clamp supports the small action camera's perfectly well under normal conditions. As noted by other reviewers, the arm and the based are separate. The advantage is that it is easier to transport. The disadvantage is twofold: gravity (or G-Force) is needed to keep the arm secured into the clamp socket, there is no pin or locking system to secure it into its socket. Second: the fitting may cause some vibration when the clamp is fitted to a (slightly) vibrating surface. I experience these issues when using it in a car, boat or on an aircraft.In non-vibrating environments, the clamp is perfect to use.

The clamp looks like it would grab onto things pretty well. ...It does not. Perhaps a table, as pictured. Not good on anything verticle. The clamp is slippery not grippy. The bending arm slides in and out of the clamp socket without threads or a pin or anything to hold it in. I will keep and use it only with extreme caution for use with my inexpensive camera or in a very secure position.I am not prone to giving negative reviews, but buyers should know what to expect.

I bought two different kinds of these and this one is not of the same quality as the more expensive one, however, it works for all my purposes just fine. It may not be built with all the same refinements but then one only needs it to do certain things and it performs all those tasks. I would have bought again and just might for a second one.

The grip is weak. The bendable rodd is crazy strong. So the two together dont work well.

It does what it is supposed to and is lite and easy to use. Now only it is so small I have lost it. Guess I will order another.

Hard to move, but does its job. It's also incredibly easy to knock the camera off the pedestal.
