I use his lead as a collar/lead not harness lead. Works well w/ my Shih-Tzu!This leash/lead is also perfect for the Houdini style dogs!!!I have a rescue border terrier mix who loves to put on the brakes when she does not want to walk or go in the opposite direction of our intended walk .. with my other numerous leashes, collars, harnesses she would be able to back out and escape every single time. This leash/lead prevents her escape by tightening around her front leg area [not the belly area, and not the throat area so NO choking!! ]...thus she stops moving and i'm able to work with her to go in the intended direction.If you use this as a harness and the dog pulls too hard too much... and thus tightens the lead around the legs too much [which is what my dog used to do] you must stop and re-adjust the lead ... ... . After a few weeks she learned not to pull away from me so hard that it tightened too much. Now we can go on a long walk and when she tries to go a different direction she won't pull hard thus allowing the leash to re-adjust itself.The product itself is well constructed, have had a smaller one from almost 8 months now and has held up very well, not fraying at all, rubber stoppers still going strong !!BEST OF ALL , MADE IN USA!!!THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS HARNESS/ LEAD IT TRULY IS A LIFE SAVER .. We have an adorable puggle husky mix revue who loves to pull all leashes making walking cumbersome and unenjoyable. We’ve tried multiple leads, leashes and harnesses to help with this problem but none have worked. I saw this and while hesitant, watched the video and decided to give it a try. It’s a game changer for us! It’s easy to put on, stays in place and actually works! Our guy still pulls a little, bit the improvement has been so dramatic & when he pulls it actually makes him stop a few feet out. We are enjoying walks so much more now. Love it!! ### ⭐⭐ My dog can find a way to mess with any harness *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 20, 2019* This is the third harness we've tried for our Pyrenees, who will dislocate your shoulder to get where he wants. It was recommended by a relative. They love theirs. Their dog is an escape artist. This is good for that purpose. But not good for our dog, who also likes to mess with harnesses and to just lay down when he doesn't get his way. So, any harness with a front attachement component, he will get his mouth under. This one, he can actually turn around and chew on the black ring. He's quite flexible, apparently! Plus he bites us during the entire complicated process of putting this on and taking it off. Sensing our mounting frustration, once we finally got him outside, he just laid down and wouldn't walk. This was pretty much a disaster. Giving ours to the family member who recommended it. We ended up with the Doggy Kingdom harness. It took forever to get here, but he walks like a dream with it.
