Great product and safe, the only disadvantage is that the time it stays on, because the ethanol container is a bit small. It is safe because the base on the table remains warm when using it.

I typed up a description of a serious problem with this and included several photos, but Amazon unjustly rejected that review. So, you can find out the issue yourself.

Got this thing to spruce up my patio for those summer nights, It is better than I thought it would be. Using the Moda Flame fuel, the fire is bright and yellow. Some notes:Size: It is slightly shorter than a bottle of wine. When full, the flame tip barely goes above the glass.Heat: The unit does get very hot to the touch. Would it warm a room? Probably, but not efficiently. The cost of fuel to utilize it as a heater would be cost ineffective. This is more of a decorative item than anything else. See more under safety.Safety: Besides the obvious (there's a fire right on your table) this unit is safe for table tops. Big Boy rules apply: Don't touch it, don't fill it when hot (seriously, the stuff can flash ignite on you), and if the unit is damaged, don't use it. keep clearance from the top and put it on a non-flammable surface (i can't believe these rules need to be explained). Unless you are using this in a large room with adequate ventilation, or in an existing fireplace with a flue, I'd avoid using this indoors, or use at least use it sparingly. As with all fires, it will put off Carbon Dioxide and Carbon Monoxide. If you have anyone with respiratory ailments, I'd definitely not use this indoors.
