True to size. I'm happy there. More of a mustard look than clay... Unfortunately. Pity grey was not available. Overall I'm happy as i was looking for light weight. I wore them hiking the weekend and had light baselayer underneath, very breathable and frankly they kept most of the snow off. Until I was kneeling or sitting. As expected they are not waterproof and as I plan on getting the timberline...they are perfect for light work. The Timberline will be camo, and these are for just hiking. I went on a 3 day mountain hike/hunt in rugged terrain and these pants felt like they were made for Superman. Pants were subjected to heat, rain, cold, snags, everything and held up to all conditions. They even dried quickly when wet. I'm 6'5" 230lbs and cannot find pants that fit me correctly. I rolled the dice on Sitka Ascent 38-T and they fit perfect. Almost like tailored hunting pants. These will be my go to pants for hunting. I will not wear anything else from now on. Guess they are not that expensive because they are the only pants I need. They eliminate the problem of having to buy backup pants. My brother has the same pants and has used many brands and agrees these are the best by far. It is certainly marketed as such. I really have no complaints with the quality. My problem is that it is unbelievable to me that they put only one pocket in the rear and one cargo pocket. I cannot understand the reasoning. Men's pants, from work pants, dress pants, blue jeans, golf short, and yes, HUNTING pants all have two pockets in the rear. But not Sitka, no, for some reason they think we only need one. Go figure. Those cargo pockets are handy to for carrying small gear, calls, electronics etc. How hard would it be to one on both sides.So put me in the "disappointed" column, though I won't slam it on quality, just design. I'm going to try to sell mine as they've been worn only twice.
