Liberty Basics 512 Wall Mounted Hose Reel with Shelf, Bronze

This hose reel is an excellent product. I had a little difficulty assembling it, but it installed relatively easily. I have been impressed so far in how it functions. The hose fits well and the reel is sturdy.

After being unable to find a dedicated pool drain hose reel that either wasn't an ugly fluorescent orange or excessively priced, I took my chances with this Liberty Basics 512 Wall Mount garden hose reel. I have 100 ft. of 2-inch heavy-duty collapsable hose drain line that was a chore to pull out to the road each time I needed to drain some water from in or under the pool. Then, hand-coiling the drain hose while trying not to twist it to hang the bundle on the fence after the draining was done was a tedious chore. This reel holds the 100 ft. of collapsed hose nicely. I used some heavy-duty zip ties through each of the wall mount screw-holes to fasten the reel frame to my aluminum fence. This affordable hose reel seems sturdy enough to adapt and meet my needs perfectly!

What showed up was exactly as expected. Took about 10 minutes to put together. Once I got the first one done, I put the 2nd one together in minutes without the instructions. Both were packaged very well. I used my own lag bolts to attach it to my wall but their hardware would work too. Zero missing or damaged parts. Loaded 100’ of 1” hose on it and it fit great.

Easy to follow "snap on" instructions. Pretty sturdy for plastic reel. Hoses, when tightened with channel lock pliers, showed no signs of leakage. Suggest winding the hose up full of water, then bleed the pressure off the hose. Then the hose has room to expand when turning back on.

If you are looking for an ineffective hose reel... this is the one! First off, terrible directions, next we move on to a ridiculous design that simply doesn't work. Last after you put it together, the hose bib leaks! Isn't the point of a hose reel is not to have water everywhere? This product is complete garbage and a waste of money

I tried to be very careful assembling it to get the handle on the right side so that it would turn clockwise but the way it turned out the handles on the right side but I’d have to turn it counterclockwise to get the hose to reel up. Now I don’t know how to disassemble and correct it. Looking back through the instructions I missed it somewhere or they’re not complete enough for me to follow correctly.

I bought one of these two years ago, and it's still working fine. That's why I'm buying a second one for another corner of the house.Some minor criticisms:(1) Assembling it using their directions can be a little confusing (lots of "Fit A into B"), but if you're even a little handy, you'll see how it goes together.(2) Mine sits in strong sunlight and has faded from brown to gray.(3) The crank handle doesn't spin on the crank arm, so if you're reeling in a long hose, wear a glove to spare the skin on your palm.
