We bought two of these to replace the one I broke, (the one we bought when vacationing in Portland Maine - I was sick thinking we would never find one unless we went back there, and that was not likely to happen again), so when I saw this bottle I was ecstatic. As I mentioned, we bought two and use them to keep cold water in the fridge by storing them in the door. The mechanism that seals the bottle works very well and we use these several times a day, so if there was going to be an issue we would have found it by now. When we have guests we set these on the table because they look so good!

Very disappointed in the poor quality of the lid rubber, it's olso hard to clean due to the narrow opening/mouth

I had carbonated drink in the bottle (only half filled) for overnight storage and leaving in room temperature of around 72F. It exploded in the morning. So not suggested on storage of carbonated drink.

I used the bottle to make some liquor infusions (nothing fermenting, so no gas was created). The third time I used it, it was a combination of slightly chilled vodka, and room temperature syrup. A few hours after adding the liquor the bottle exploded on the counter with nobody nearby.
