The episcopic illuminator includes removable polarizer and analyzer, as well as adjustable field and aperture diaphragms. The plan-achromatic optical system offers sharp, flat-field images with excellent color-correction. Six magnification settings are provided: three metallurgical (50x, 100X, 500X), and three bright-field (40X, 100X, 400X). The Siedentopf head with dual diopters and high-eyepoint eyepieces provides a comfortable and adjustable viewing platform.
