I grew so frustrated with air mattress, I never wanted to bother with one again. I can't stand cold coming up from under me and I always slept freezing on an air mattress. The first night I slept on this cot, it was comfortable and I feel asleep quickly, I didn't have a pad on it and did wake up cold. I've since added the thermarest pad and since it reflects the heat back at you, it solved that problem. I would recommend that if you sleep cold.I was looking for a cot that was easy to transport and of decent size, my husband is six foot and I didn't want him hanging off of one. I also needed it to be easy for my daughter and I to put up and take down ourselves without any help.The cots are long enough for a 6 ft man, wide enough to sleep on your side and so easy to setup! You just pull it open like a camp chair. One other feature I intentionally looked for was something quiet. I didn't want some crinkle sound everytime I moved. I didn't have that problem with this cot. I bought this for my home office. I admit it, I am older, work from home, and take a nap every afternoon after lunch. I used a blow up mattress for years, but I had to deflate it to put it in the closet. Now, I take my cot out of the closet and unfold it in less than 30 seconds, take my nap, then fold it and put it away in 30 seconds. I have tried other cots and didn't like them because they had a bar at the ends, or in the middle that was uncomfortable. This cot has no bars, and the head is slightly elevated.
