Most complete and authoritative source I could find anywhere. Book 1 starts with ancient attempts to swimming underwater and primitive approaches for underwater stealth. The wealth and depth of knowledge accumulated by the US Navy is well documented here and presented with amazing detail covering about 100 years of technical evolution. This is a massive book with full size print for a long read. It is well worth the price and shipped quickly. Glad to find both books 1 and 2 on Amazon. I like to support the Dive shops too, but these were a great buy and cover way more information than I had imagined.

I have been practicing diving medicine for 30 years. The free pdf from the US Navy is full color. This book is all B&W. Also the covers came wrinkled and creased.
