I bought this hoping it was the right fit for my gate. it turned out it was perfect. It is so sturdy that I don't have to worry about my dogs getting out. I would highly recommend.

An incredible product! It will easily last 100 years! Our gate is a 9' 7" across and shrunk 3/4 of an inch the first year, making other latches useless. This latch has a angle iron style drop bar that extends 2 and a 1/2 inches beyond the latch closure! As the gate shrinks the drop bar will still reach the receiver! It is made using thick steal plates either bent or welded together and uses one 1/4" Stainless Steal Pan Head Allen bolt on the rotating side of the drop bar. It also includes 1/4" Stainless Steal Tec screws (#3 Phillips Pan Heads for the sides, and #3 Phillips Recessed for the drop bar and receiver sides). It is well worth the money!!

Very disappointed. Ordered two latches and one was missing the latch bar. How does that even happen. Where was the quality control? Kept us from moving the chickens out into their new coop.

I have a75-lb dog who likes to jump up on my double-door yard gate, which is held in place by a vertical steel stake on each side. I bought this to add additional strength. It is a really nice heavy latch. Very sturdy. The only thing I'd have liked to see be a little different was the screws that go on the short side - where the inside edges of the gate meet. They used button-head screws and they are exactly opposite one another, top and bottom. There wasn't enough clearance for both screws, so I staggered them with one side top and the other side bottom. I'd like to see these holes staggered, or to use counter-sunk screws like are used on the face plates.

This was easy to install and appears to be very sturdy. The double gate no longer moves in strong winds, saving the durability of the gate itself.
