i have a tv that doesnt have any av ports, only hdmi so i needed something to convert it. bouht this and im super impressed. so easy to set up and use. the wii uses i think 360p or 480 p output and goingg through the hdmi port it stayed the same quality, honeslty i swear it made it 720p!! perfect for anyone who has older gaming systems and a newer tv

I did not expect much when I purchased this based on the price, but it actually does a good job.I have older game systems that are not compatible with the newer Flat screens, and where this will not up the image quality of those games, it does allow you to play them on the newer Flat Screens that only have HDMI connectors.This will also allow hook up for VCR's if you have older home movies that have not yet been converted to Digital, or even store bought ones to watch on the newer Flat Screens. Once again to not expect the quality to go up as the source is still the source and not much can be done to up the quality, but the fact this pretty inexpensive device allows you to use these older devices on the newer technology is definitely a plus.

It delivers excellent transmission, advanced signal processing provides high resolution, flicker free and distortion free image quality, good color and detail, but follow the instructions. Make sure that the USB power cord is plugged into the USB port that the device is turned off. Otherwise, its usage time may be shortened

This was a lifesaver! We are at home in NYC and the kids need some exercise, but our Wii was playing fuzzy and in black and white. This thing made the picture amazing! We got the color back and the picture is sharp! The kids were playing in black and white, but getting the picture fixed really amped up their enthusiasm.

I bought it to use my VCR through my Denon avr-x2300 receiver, which can't upgrade composite video to HDMI. After reading the comments, I realized it didn't have a power supply, so I bought an Amazon basic USB power supply. So make sure your TV / receiver has an available USB port to provide power. I changed the input of my receiver to HDMI and voila, and it worked. Installation less than a minute, perfect work.

This works as stated, and it is easy to use and very inexpensive compared to older converters. The processed image is a little more stark than the original (the black are blacker, the white are whiter), but overall it works just fine. One thing the write-up does not make clear is that you need to supply the device with its own electricity (mini usb port on the device). I highly recommend this if yo do not have a region 2 dvd player but want to see region 2 dvds..

I bought it because I had a lot of old game systems. I'm glad I did. I'm connected to my Sega dream, my Atari reboot, and a small handheld device that has pole position and Lady pac man and some other games that I absolutely love. I play these games on the computer monitor and the results are better than I expected!

I bought this because of the rave reviews on Amazon and it seemed very simple to use. I have a few retro consoles such as Dreamcast, Gamecube, etc and wanted a cheap, no thrill device that allows me to connect the console to my HD 4K TV. The setup was simple and all you needed externally is a HDMI cable. After turning on the console, the TV immediately picked up the game and I can swap between 720 and 1080 resolution. To me, neither one of those made a difference and I was just really glad that I was able to play my retro console on a modern TV. I would recommend it especially for the price paid.

This converter is alright if it's your only option for hooking up old equipment to new TVs which lack the proper ports. I found that the image looks fuzzier than directly connecting the cables into the TV. Sometimes when starting my console, the picture shows up but there is no audio. I found that switching to 720p and then back to 1080p on the side of the device fixes the audio issue. Just a minor inconvenience. With that said, this is an affordable solution to hooking up your old stuff to new stuff, so long as you're okay with the picture not being super clear.

Purchased this item to connect old Hitachi VCR to new Samsung TV. VCR had component (red, white, yellow) inputs whereas TV only had HDMI inputs. Adapter connected very easily. It requires power which it is getting from the TV USB input. Power cord is provided. As you would expect, product requires a component cable as well as an HDMI cable and these are not included.

J'ai acheté puisque ma télé ne supporte pas les anciennes prises RCA. Je l'utilise pour jouer sur un GameCube. Super résultat une fois connecté. Qualité audio/vidéo est super. Facile a branché. Seul petit point est qu'il faut une prise USB pour alimenter le dispositif lors de l'utilisation. 10/10 je recommande cet article.

cheap build quality, very flimsy so don't touch it when plugged in, doesn't come with the power brick which is a bummer. 3 star
