How much area does 1 pen cover?

It all depends on how many layers you apply, I did 3. I have used 4 pens for my kitchen which is roughly 12 by 18ft. Hope this helps

Is the touch up considered permanent or semi-permanent or will wash away with cleanings?

Good question. For most grouts it is permanent. However some customers try it on "sealed" grout and it is not able to adhere with the grout, therefore it is temporary.

Will this product fill in fine cracks in the grout? My back splash grout ling that meets my counter top has a small crack line.

If the cracks are VERY fine, the grout pen may fill them, but this does not apply to silicon grouting, which is generally used to seal the line between counter top and wall. The grout pen is meant for mortar grout.

Will this work on painted grout?
