Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat – Quick Dry Clear Nail Polish Top Coat for High Gloss Shine, Long-Lasting Manicure, Made in the USA, 0.5 fl oz

I have been reading about this brand of topcoat for so long now. I do not know why I never bought it until recently. I think maybe the price had something to do with it. After all I thought it was just clear nail polish and I can get that at the dollar store. Am I glad that I finally took the plunge and bought a bottle. I am not what they call someone who spends a lot of time on "cuticle care" (Pitch Perfect reference *high5*) I keep my nail shorts because they tend to chip & break easily if I do not. I love nail polish colors, God knows I have plenty of them. Just recently I got my first "gel mani", boy, was I ever impressed. It was awesome. The color I chose was a beautiful green color that resembled something you'd see on a tropical island, it was so shiny and strong. I went swimming, playing in the sand, playing in the ocean, doing all kinds of outdoorsy stuff on my vacation, and not one chip was to be seen. In fact it was not until the 12th or 13th day that I noticed the color was coming off from the bottom up, noticed the top down. Which is what I like. Back to SECHE VITE DRY FAST TOP COAT: when I am not doing a gel manicure (which is always) I like my normal polish manicure (with a little bit of nail art on ring fingers to make me feel pretty) to last as long as humanly possible. Not only does this topcoat make my polish last days longer, it also makes my nails incredibly shiny, and it is helping them to grow stronger and longer. I am using a vitamin filled base coat to help my nails grow strong (Orly), I use a coat of this on top of the base coat, then I put my color , then I use this as my topcoat/quick dry, and I let it dry for about 20 minutes before I do anything. I have found that quick dry topcoats, quick dry sprays and drops, etc. Are not really quick dry at all. In fact when you try to use your nails too quickly after applying the quick dry topcoat, you will find smudges/ridges, and your nails become messy. I believe it helps the polish to dry a couple of minutes faster, but not immediately. The quick dry labeling lulls you into a false sense of security. I am sure many of us out there have used a quick dry product only to end up having to redo our nails. To wrap it up I think that this product is outstanding. I can see what all of the hype is about, and I'm still not sure whether it is worth the price, but I believe it is money well spent, for me anyways. I found that this product has done what it says it will do. Except for the quick dry thing. I believe it dries nails quicker, but not the quickest. Or completely. I like using this polish on top of my base coat. There are times when I want to go polish free, but I like to use the vitamin enriched base coat to strengthen and lengthen my brittle nails. This topcoat not only enhances the vitamin base coat it also adds a beautiful shine.

I have been using this particular top coat and only this top coat for 5 years. I should start by saying that I work in an ER and I am very hard on my nails. I am constantly washing my hands all day long. I paint my nails at least once but sometimes twice per week. I have a borderline obsession with nail polish. This is hands down the best top coat available. I have used OPI, Essie, and some other cheaper drug store brands. None of them compare to Seche Vite. So now I will commence my list of why this is the only top coat that I use. I will also address the claims by some granola people out there that Seche Vite contains chemicals that are going to kill you. It dries super fast! Not only does it last the longest, look the shiniest, but it drys faster than anything I have ever used. You can apply this immediately after applying color and it will be dry in minutes. Do be careful though, if you are using certain polishes, the brush does absorb some of the color. It is easy to get a little red in your top coat and it looks pink-ish now. I avoid this by just dipping the brush in the topcoat when I am done, and wiping it on a paper towel (or whatever trashy magazine or junk mail happens to be lying near me). This top coat is so glossy. People are constantly asking me, "are those gel nails?" And I say no, its Seche Vite of course! It lasts a long time! I wash my hands or use hand sanitizer at least 40 times per day at work. Probably a lot more than that actually. And this top coat lasts. Sometimes after 3 days of work in a row, it does get dull looking. So I just apply again and my nails look good as new. There is a warning label on seche vite regarding the chemicals this product contains. This is only required by the State of CA, that is why the label is on there. The polish contains toluene. Yes toluene is not good for your body. But if you are just using Seche Vite to paint your nails, even if you did it every day, I doubt you would be exposed to very much of this substance at all. The people that toluene is dangerous for are those that smoke crack cocaine and PCP where toluene is used as a solvent in large quantities. So as long as you don't use Seche Vite to smoke your crack, this toluene will probably not hurt you. And I have not heard of any actual cases where seche vite was indicated as the cause of death or birth defects. And finally, even if these chemicals are going to cause damage to my body, it is worth it. If this top coat is wrong, I don't want to be right.

The best top coat on the market. It goes on super thick, which upon first use, seems weird, but that's the way it's supposed to be and it dries really quickly. Within 90 seconds, you'll be able to touch your tails gently with no smudge. This dries hard and protects your polish better than any other top coat. It's not like getting a gel manicure, but it's the greatest product for regular polish. Gives the very best protection against chipping and gives a great shine. It's the only top coat I use. You can find cheaper top coat, but why not use the best on the market?

Best topcoat I've ever used. Very glossy and smooth and easy to apply--and it dries quickly! I do have to replace about once a year, though, because it gets too thick to use.

I was on the hunt for a great topcoat that would help my polish stay on my nails as my polish tends to chip off the same day I apply it. I have never had polish last for longer than a day and a half on my nails even with a good base coat and roughing them up and all that. I purchased both Seche Vite (SV) and Deborah Lippman Addicted To Speed (DL ATS) topcoat. DL ATS cost $20 for a bottle, SV cost $5. I used the same amount of coats of a China Glaze polish on both hands and I put SV on one and DL ATS on the other. The hand with Seche Vite had a blindingly bright shine, dried very fast and lasted for 3 days before chipping/peeling off my nails. The hand with DL ATS topcoat had a nice subtle shine, dried just as quickly and the polish lasted 2 1/2 days before chipping lightly. So the very expensive topcoat lasted slightly less but didn't chip nearly as much, but both were great products. I was a bit surprised that the Seche Vite nails peeled like they did. The way it peeled up, I just tugged and watched my polish come off in one whole piece. In the end I was very pleasantly surprised with Seche Vite. For $5 a bottle, it lasted longer the high end stuff, the shine was gorgeous and the application wasn't as difficult as some said it would be. I didn't think the high end stuff was good enough to spend $15 more a bottle. I'll be sticking with Seche Vite. Caveat: If you are the type of person who likes to fill in the chips and reapply the topcoat, this one is not a winner. I found the topcoat sort of -resistant- to repairs. Since I don't tend to repair my polish because I'm fickle and get bored with color quickly, this wasn't a problem for me.

This top coat dries super quick and has that deep gloss look to it. My nails look professionally done and has lasted with no chipping. I have a small crack in one of my fingernails and it coated it so thickly and I am not having any problems with it snagging. So glad I finally bought this and will keep repurchasing it and recommending it!

The formula of this stuff is great. Other quick dry top coats I’ve tried start drying too fast and I end up with a streaky top coat, not this stuff! I can take my time with the top coat before it starts drying and even then it takes like 5-10 minutes before my nails are dry enough to resume normal activities. I really like this stuff but it does have quite a strong smell so definitely open and window when you use it.

I am super happy with this top coat! I followed the directions, and while it took a little bit longer to fully dry solid than I expected, the end result was absolutely worth it. It’s been 6 days since I painted my nails, and they still look fantastic. Even more impressive—they made it through a full weekend of camping with zero chips or flakes, which honestly says everything. The finish is super glossy and really gives that salon-quality look. For the performance and durability, the price is completely justified. I’m officially sold and will be sticking with this product from now on!

Was a little unsure of this topcoat after reading other reviews and comments. However I am very pleased with it. I would say it’s last incredibly well on toes. I usually lose polish from my toes easily within a day this makes it last weeks. Not quite as long on fingers chips after few days might be my poor technique in application. It dries quickly and gives a reasonably good shine to nail. Will likely purchase again.

It does the job very well. Adds volume, shine, dries in few minutes so that you shouldn’t be afraid to touch nails accidentally. But the ingredients aren’t the safest, it has strong smell. And can shrink sometimes
