I was amazed to find this a very easy and insightful read
Have a bit of familiarity of the rarity, complexity and subtlety that translations have, I was amazed to find this a very easy and insightful read. Well though out and put together. This is one book that if you do not read the introduction first, you will find yourself at a loss for some of the writing afterwards. Compiled and translated from two very different dialects this is a very good reference book for anyone studying mysticism or interested int he lives of the saints. Poignant and thought provoking, I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone that believe they might have sensitive gifts of the Holy Spirit. Two thumb up!

Skimming Through It, Seems Legit
Purchased this to add to my Classics of Western Spirituality collection. When I get around to reading it, probably years from now, I'll probably review it then.

I didn't know anything about St. Angela. I love this book and her experiences. They outline her mystical experiences with God. How blessed she was!

Great translation
Great translation from Thier and Calufetti's 1985 critical edition of Angela da Foligno's Liber/Libro. Useful and thorough introduction (although a lot has been written since about Angela by both theologians and historians). Angela is a religious figure who, despite what you think about her expression of faith, has never been forgotten in Christian spiritual theology, and inspired great Franciscan Spirituals, such as Jacopone of Todi and Ubertino of Casale, and then the 'Great' Spanish mystics, John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila.
