A good short poetry introduction for kids. Numerous pages, each spread containing 1-3 poems. Younger kids might lose attention span before you get to the end of the book.

I love this book and so does my 2 year old!
I love Lois Ehlert books, but this one takes the cake. It is so beautifully illustrated and it's full of short rhymes on every page which makes for the best kind of book for toddlers. (and older, too)! It is very creative and funny and would hold any child's attention. It is so much fun to read outloud.

Fun and entertaining
This book is so fun! My 5 yr old loves animals and loves this book. We probably read it 5-6 times as soon as we opened the box. Great graphics and colors. There's a lot to talk about as you read together.

Wait to use this wonderful board book with older children.
Sometimes we are inclined to use a board book too early with a child. This may be such an instance. Make no mistake THIS IS A GREAT BOOK ! But because of the number of pages and the short poems that are matched to the animals you'll find it is best to hold back here until the child can fully manage a "thicker" book and appreciate/enjoy the clever poetry.I will certainly save this for my grandchild but I'll give it to her when she is two or three years old rather than when she is in the 16-20 month range. On the other hand, I might take it out occasionally to just look at the splendid illustrations of critters and then, after enjoying the visual stimulation with Brynn, reshelf it until later !Book supplied by publisher.

Not upto expectation
I think, I was expecting a bit more from this book. Was expecting it to be much more vibrant (as it looks in the displayed images online). Its quite a compromising purchase that I have made so far!

Love it. I use it for my science animal ...
Love it. I use it for my science animal lessons in my classroom. We read the poems and recreate the art works.
