Nicely presented
A well conceived book, though the binding and paper are far from good. It captures the essence of Bhagavata, but pushes the concepts a bit too far. One can see the influence of Krishna consciousness in some of the pages, and the bias towards ritualism. Though compared to other translations, this book is by far the most comprehensive and abridged. It is not a line by translation of the Purana but a set of well written essays, dialogs and prayers. Very nicely presented.

Reads like Scripture.
If you are familiar with reading Hindu scriptures, like the Bhagavad Gita, and or the Upanishads, and you enjoyed that, I think that you would enjoy this. The Srimad Bhagavatam reads like a series of essays on proper living. A guide book to spiritual discipline, the over all message of the book is to love and serve the lord. Many of books with in this book are short stories of noble men and there spiritual journeys. The Srimad Bhagavatam is pleasant, uplifting, and inspiring.

Great Book
As a Hindu, I wanted to get an understanding of Hindu history and this book has everything a person needs to know. The book was very well written/translated. The books clearly explains how man was created and has details of all the interesting things I was taught as a kid. Overall, a great book for those seeking knowledge about god!

Nice Pocket Edition
I recently bought the paperback edition from Vedanta Press bookstore. I love how small it is, i can take it with me anywhere. The biggest dissapointment was that THIS IS NOT A FULL TRANSLATION. But for what it is it is a great copy!

Great book
I have read Bhagwat Gita 3 times prior to starting this book. I see every thing falling into place while I am reading this book.I was never a fan of any English poetry. Yet I love the the way the Sanskrit has been translated into English archaic poetry form.Thank you god for making this knowledge available to me.

Spiritual Growth
Spiritual Growth brings us to the greatest truth, that we are one with God. Learning is based on meditation, introspection and the teachings of a true Guru, and this learning process engages every aspect of our inner and outer lives. The Srimad Bhagavatam, an ancient teaching of a true Guru, has been translated in modern times by more than one author. I first read the Srimad Bhagavatam translated by Kamala Subramanian. The translation by Swami Prabhavananda is on my Kindle because Subramanian's translation is not available on Kindle. I would recommend any translation of the Srimad Bhagavatam to all truth seekers. Meditators will find inspiration for spiritual growth in this ancient scripture.

good read, not bonafide
Sri Prabhupada called these devotees the "chicken littles," as they ate chicken and could therefore know nothing of Karma.Union with the Supreme Personality of Godhead is not the highest form of yoga, as these fallen translators profess. One is to be in service of The Lord! Bhakti yoga=devotional service.
