Ordered a box of these for use in our office. Was inspired to try change all our plastic products to biodegradable ones after reading that America generates 34.5m tons of plastic waste annually and only 9% is recycled. Much of it ends up in open landfills, where it can easily become airborne. A recent study in France estimated that 2000 tons of airborne microplastics rain down annually, meaning your plastic waste ends up in the foodchain. And plastic takes on average 450 years to biodegrade.These spoons are sturdy, smooth and my colleagues haven't even noticed they are not plastic. They biodegrade in a commercial facility in less than a year, and can be home composted as well. We are bringing ours to our city's composting facility, along with coffee grounds and other food waste. Main benefit is that we can all be eco-friendly with minimal inconvenience and disruption to people's daily routines. 5-stars.

Very sturdy and larger than I thought. Great price. Compostable!

We go through a lot of spoons at our preschool. Yeah we can buy them for pennies, but we consume them by the thousands. We finally bit the bullet and made a stance for the planet. These are small and light and strong.

These compostable spoons are fantastic. They are very sturdy and I've used them multiple times throughout the day despite them being listed as single use.

These spoons are much sturdy and aesthetically pleasing than the regular plastic spoons. They have a very smooth finish and there are no sharp edges. I have used these for various food like ice cream, curries, rice, cake and they work good and hold pretty well even with harder foods. A lot of plastic spoons deform when used with very hot food but these are very strong and do not loose shape even when dipped in hot soup. Even the spoon handles are smooth and easy to hold. The good thing is they are compostable so they will not end up in the landfill. These are perfect spoons to keep in lunch boxes, to pack in camping bag or for everyday use at home. I am planning to get the fork as well so I will be sorted with disposable cutlery for a while.

These are some really good disposable spoons, they're comfortable to hold, have a decent size and length to them, not small or short like tasting spoons, they also have a deep groove curvature for holding specific foods well, these spoons are designed great, feel sturdy and durable, they handle hot temperatures and love the quantity, I can't stand doing dishes, so these will help me out in that area and last me awhile before having to purchase more, they're also better for the environment and compostable and can be used for any occasion or just home use.

Cornstarch ? Talc ? Into a spoon ? Really ? Absolutely, and they’re great ! I was skeptical. I went so far as to stir hot coffee with one to see if the spoon would break down or melt; it didn’t. Turns out, they’re so durable that you can even run them through the dishwasher and use them again and again. So how do they look and feel ? They’re a smooth matte ‘plastic’ utensil that’s just a wee bit smaller than my household teaspoons. Comfortable in the hand, with a hole in the handle (conserves resources). The bowl is a little shallower, too. None of that detracts from its function. They even use this same line of flatware at my favorite BBQ restaurant. I feel better knowing that it’s able to be commercially composted and broken down in just 6 months. So yeah … cornstarch and talc. Who knew?
