Sure you will find filters "compatible" with ULTRAWF and at a much lower cost, however, what you should be paying attention to is whether or not the other "compatible" filters are tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53 and 401. It is also certified by the Water Quality Association to WQA/ASPE/ANSI S 803 for sustainability. You will never have fitment or installation issues with a genuine ULTRAWF filter. Installation is as easy as push in and pull out to release the old filter and push in the new filter.
