Read the manual that relates to your appliance. The lamp i have requires you to unclip and pull out slowly from the bayonet socket. Installation is the same only in reverse, locate the two pins, push lightly and raise the lamp up until it clips into place. At this point take the opportunity to check the rest of the lamp for any signs of damage including the cable.
