Sparkolloid is made of a proprietary alginate agent mixed with diatomaceous earth as a carrier. So, basically an algae extract mixed with diatomaceous earth. Diatomaceous earth is a sedimentary rock made of the fossilized remains of single-celled animals, but since they died millions of years ago, I'm pretty sure that's vegan.

Sparkolloid Powder (1 oz)Sparkolloid is a fining agent used for clarification of beer and wine. It will neutralize the repelling charge of particles in liquid, allowing the particles to aggregate and fall out of solution while not affecting the coloring of your beer or wine.Usage: Dissolve 1 tablespoon of Sparkolloid in 8 oz. of boiling water for approximately 5 min. After mixing, add hot mixture to 5-6 gallons of beer or wine. Stir gently to incorporate. It is recommended to wait 1-2 weeks before racking or bottling.
