ZeagleScope Dual

Had the potential to be a terrific mask, but they blew it with the frame design in a potentially dangerous way.To cut to the point: literally on my fifth dive with this mask, the bonding glue (if there ever was one) between the plastic inner frame and the silicone shirt came apart and left a 1-inch gap open. Luckily I was diving by day, in clear water, at only 10-15 ft. The night before I had been doing a night dive in low visibility water at 60ft, and losing the seal in that situation could have gone very differently.This is a serious design flaw that can lead to unsafe, potentially dangerous situations. While a mask is obviously a less critical component than an air tank, a regulator, or a depth gauge, losing a mask at depth is definitely a serious situation that may require assistance if anything else from your buddy just to help surface while reading depth to follow safety stops. I do not take this equipment failure lightly.On a smaller note, the guy who designed a "C"-shaped allen key as a mask tool seriously needs to be reconsidering other careers. The tool is a nightmare--just a straight, L-shape or "T" would have sufficed--no need to get all trendy in the design: it is useless.On a positive note, had the mask actually worked, the field of view is really nice, the skirt is comfortable, the nose pocket is roomy and comfortable, and easy to pinch to equalize, and the headband design is top notch. All really great attributes that were making me look forward to making this my main mask. Sorry Zeagle.. I'm going back to my ScubaPro*** Update as of July 31, 2018 ***I was contacted yesterday by the vendor who said Zeagle contacted them in the morning. Apparently Zeagle had found out late about a serious defect in its first batch that causes the skirt to come unbonded from the frame, and was calling suppliers to have them warn clients. Apparently a new run has addressed the issues and I decided to give this one more try as, aside from this (really serious) issue, it is a great mask. The new batches should come out in a few weeks. We’ll see then.

Today was my second time using this mask. I have to say, I didn't have to clear my mask during my 46 minute dive. Of course, I had to use a lighter to burn off the protected film for shipping and used toothpaste the night before each dive. The quality is top notch! Well built and solid. I gave a 4 star due to the bottom skirt felt a little uncomfortable at time pressing against my cheekbone. Maybe I will have to break it in a bit more. Highly recommended!

Flaws have been corrected in the original design/construction of this mask. This has now become my all time favorite mask! Excellent seal, comfortable fit, and incredible vision! I have logged over 20 dives in this one so far, and absolutely love it. I would definitely recommend the Zeagle Scope Dual to anyone!

Skirt fitting failed completely around the mask. Had 10 salt water dives and two pool training sessions. Went to assist with instruction in cold water quarry and the mask completely failed. Images show failures.

Disclaimer: bought this through a dive shop locally. Apparently this mask is getting lots of defects. Great viewing angle and seal until it broke. Seal seemed nonexistent, and I'm surprised they lasted 3 dives. Thankfully I found out about the 1.5 inch gap minutes before jumping in the water on the 4th dive.
