Q: Does this shammy have any little fibers in the material? I need to dry something that fibers easily get stuck in, so a regular towel won't work.

It is like fake leather. I found it to be less than what I wanted to use it for. I wanted to dry the condensation from my RV windows. It has to be kept wet to work so it is kind of counter productive for my application.

Q: Is there a difference in material between swim chamois and car chamois, other than price?

These chamois are very similar to synthetic chamois you would use on your automobile. If you are thinking of using a car chamois instead, I would make sure that the car chamois is not treated with some chemical that you would not want on your skin. I use this chamois for my camping trips and it has held up well these past three years.

Q: Can you wash in detergent before first use?

Hi there! The best way to wash the chamois towel is with warm, soapy water. However, you can certainly wash with detergent if you would like. We do not recommend washing it in a washing machine with other clothes though. I hope that helps and enjoy your towel!
